9ft IM8 Spinning Rod Rocks! Berkley's IM8 9ft 8-14lb medium Spinning Rod is working well for my side drifting needs. The upgrade to 9ft gives me the leverage I need to put added pressure on the fish in faster water without breaking line. The 8-14lb medium gives me enough backbone to bare down on the larger fish but the rod still gives me the sensitivity i need to drop to light weight and feel everything. April 14, 2012
great feel but no deal I have purchased the im7 as a back up then when I broke that fighting a 15lb silver in a tight river I purchased last year (11) the Im8 both 8ft somethings, I was using the Im8 for back up on a drift boat had it stacked with about 4 gloomis poles when I jumped back in the boat I stepped on all the poles and the only one to break was the im8, all the g-loomis were in tack. The eyes on the berkley tend to cause wear on your line faster than that of other rods such as Gl2 or my Lamiglass pro-96,I now use an ugly stick 96 for a back up, less feel but a whole lot sturdier and not enough loss of feel to account for much.
