This is the best adjustable dumbbell set I have used. They are not that long compared to the Bowflex which you could do exercises way more comfortable and they are super easy to use. You could even add 20 more pounds to the if you need more weight instead of buying another heavier set. Amazing all around!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Jackie28 GREAT alternative to standard dumbbells
Compact (especially compared to having multiple sets of dumbbells)
Quick to change weight amount (with caveat below under Cons)
Because of the design, you can't up it by 2.5 lb increments all the way through 50, only through 30. Thereafter, it'll skip from 30, 35, 37.5, 40, 45, 47.5, 50, thus missing 32.5 and 42.4. Not a big deal though.
To use any of the x2.5 increments, it takes extra time to remove/add/change the adder weights. Although this might be only 10 extra seconds or so, it IS SLOWER than if you did have a rack of dumbbells already set. It can get annoying as well.
Because of the way the handle fits inside the weights, the retaining bar may not line up with the holes well if on carpet (or other soft surface). This is easily fixed if you pull up on the weights a bit while sliding the retaining bar through.
You need to be careful that the retaining bar is positioned properly and all the way through, else risking an accident.
Although there aren't any "sharp" corners, there are still corners and edges on these, so they're not a smooth as dumbbells and could nick or scratch you a bit more if you're not careful.
The handle is placed in a "cage" of sorts, which may be more challenging to get your hands in if you have big hands or use Nike Alpha Training Grips. Gloves are fine though.
If doing overhead triceps work, then pressing both dumbbells together may slip from each other. Again, use caution.
The number of dumbbells this replaces is a bit overstated, and thus so is the potential savings. They're probably still cheaper than entire sets of dumbbells, but who would buy (are they even available?) dumbbells in 22.5, 27.5, 32.5, etc.? Nevertheless, I do find the option to go into 2.5 lb increments helpful, especially when those are below 30 lbs.
Although I have more cons listed, I still love these and recommend them. You can read how great everyone else thinks they are. I just wanted to point some things out that I didn't realize until after using them for a few months.
If space is an issue and you want to change weights quickly, get these. If cost is an issue, you may want to just get dumbbell handles and plates. If money and space are no object, I'd get full sets of rubber dumbbells and a good rack.

Perfect set for use at home. Suggest getting the optional stand as the weights are heavy to pick up from the floor!

I bought these about 6 months ago and I have really enjoyed them. It was just what I was looking for to have at the house. They quickly and easily change from one setting to another and I've had no problems with them whatsoever. I would highly recommend the PowerBlock Classic 50 Plus!

Rated 5 out of 5 by adam8782 GREAT PRODUCT
I've only had them a few days now, but for the price that you pay, this product is amazing. Most dumbbell sets (even used) can go for triple the amount you pay for these. These are a great space saver as well as being easy to use. Most of the negative reviews I've seen so far are with the deterioration with them, but hopefully that won't be the case here. My opinion is, if you're weights are defective or slowly deteriorating, you're getting lazy and using them incorrectly.

I love these dumbbells, easy to use and versatile. Because of their shape they force you to grip them a Little bit differently than a regular dumbbell making every exercise a little harder. Their comfortable, and weight adjustments are simple and quick. I'm glad I bought them.

I love these dumbells! OMG! So easy to use and such a great workout! I got them them from Dicks Sporting goods. Delivered promptley. I'm not going to knock them for the shipping packaging- which could have been better! The free weight stand clinched the deal for me. Do not consider any other dumbell system- these are THE BEST!

Rated 5 out of 5 by AngieC Awesome Weights!
I spent a lot of time researching adjustable weights before I made this purchase. I chose these for several reasons. First I like the weight range (5-50 lbs) and also the 2.5 lb increase. The design is also very basic and seem to be pretty reliable. I thought the square shape would be odd, but it's really not! And for the price, I was able to get the weights and the stand which is REALLY convenient. My workout program calls for switching weights a lot throughout my workout and I typically range from 5 lbs to 25 lbs in one session. I couldn't imagine NOT having these! Definitely a smart buy!
