Rated 5 out of 5 by 5 stars after two years I have two Saranac 146's that get regular class II use and both have already paid for themselves in saved rental fees. The top rails seem very stout. The plastic bottom will have some give and gain "character" sliding over rocks but this is cosmetic and neither of my boats have faded (stored upside-down under a deck). +1 the seatbacks are a huge plus, but I now have to use a knot to keep the cord in place. +1 for padded seats. -1 tracking because the canoe does not have a keel and is relatively short, but +1 for maneuverability due to length. Old Town went over the top with odd injection-molded features. The center cooler does not close securely (use a bungee cord). Three passengers and an ice chest really stretches the limits for space. The dry storage compartment I only trust my t-shirt in. The boat drains well. The handles are good enough. Expect this canoe to be too heavy to load on top of an SUV alone but an average person could drag it up a sandy incline or onto a tailgate by themselves. June 7, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by excellent exactly what i wanted i haven't used it yet but did research prior to purchase and loved the price & customer service June 7, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great canoe Always wanted a canoe and since it will hold my daughter, wife and myself, I decided to take the plunge. It is not an aluminum canoe by any means, every scrape will be seen when you turn it over, you don't want to drag it too much. And in fact as another reviewer commented on, it left the store with some scratches on it already, but the salesperson was quick to take 10% off before I even said anything. I do wish the plastic was a bit harder though. My only other complaint is the weight, it's easy enough for me to get it on the roof rack by myself, but getting it down (while trying to save the paint on the roof) is a bit tough. But once you get it in the water you will be pleasantly surprised at how well it tracks and easy it is to row. I only wish I hadn't waited so long to get it! June 7, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Looks like the canoe was dragged across concrete We picked up the canoe today. The man who helped us was wonderful! He was so knowledgeable. Unfortunately, when we got it home, we noticed that the bottom of the canoe is already "trashed". I am including a picture of one of the areas damaged. I don't know what happened to it but they should have never sold it in the condition that it is in. I now have to call the store tomorrow to see if we can do an exchange! We spent $500 on this canoe and if damage is done to it, I want it to be from us. Be sure to check EVERYTHING out before you leave. We never had the chance to look everything over before the canoe went up on the vehicle. June 4, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Quality canoe. I've brought the canoe out numerous times and love it. It tracks well, plenty of storage space and is even stable enough to stand up and fish from. The canoe is a little on the heavy side (79lbs) but I am still able to load and unload it by myself. This product is definitely worth the price! May 31, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best purchase I've made in a long time. I love this canoe. It paddles very easily and the seats are comfortable. I would have designed the storage compartments a little differently myself but it works great. I like that it has a waterproof storage compartment for my phone and other personal belongings.
