SMACK DOWN
Was fishing Lake Catawache out of peer 90 in Boutte LA. right after the 2011 Classic. Water was all churned up. Used the KVD 2.5 and I guess they seen to much of that one and went with the pro model bluegill. And BAM!! hauled in several 4's and an 8lb bass.
Last weekend I was fishing pre spawn in east TX. and had a few bites. Pulled up to an island with grass in about 2' water with a drop to 18'. Father in law threw every crank in the box with no luck. I was throwing the bluegill color and waxed his butt. At one point I caught 6 in a row on every cast. Biggest was a 5.7. Not huge but a good bass for that lake. They were in a staging area ready to move up to the shallow in about 6-10' water. Would throw it to the shallow and get it to dig in the mud and then stop. Let it float up a little and dig it in again. and when you stop it for a sec. thats when you get the hit so keep a tight line. Make sure to use a medium action rod. Fluorocarbon line, 17lb test works well. If using mono, you can use a stiffer rod because of the give in the line. But if using braid or fluro, user a medium action and set the hook with a sweeping motion, not a strait up jerk like you would with a worm. You dont want to rip the hooks out. Hooks held up good as well. They are sharp so it took less effort to set the hook. And it set deep.

Really gets down to deep water.
Great action, dives quickly, no problems dragging the bottom and it catches fish.

Great crankbait, right out of box
Runs perfectly straight right out of box, without adjustment. Size just right when bass targeting smaller shad. Replaced hooks with upgrades.

It's a excellent crankbait for mid range cranking especially the xd3 version I can't say anything isn't great about it
