Good pack, lots of space, comfortable. The waist and chest straps give extra back support.

It seems you need to be a little careful with things from North Face. A lot of their backpacks seem to cater to people who are going to use them for school etc. If you are looking for a pack that is geared for hikers, this is the one. Love the zip pockets on the hip belt--great for storing a snack bar, phone, knife and or my GPS. The zippers to the main compartments don't open and close as easily as I would like and I can sometimes feel the tube for my camelback (not well padded) but otherwise a great pack. Plenty of compartments, comfortable, and lightweight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Sarah Great buy!
We bought 4 of these backpacks to use as our sole luggage on our trip to Europe. The side pockets for a water bottle were nice and deep, unlike ones I saw where the bottle kept slipping out. The main part of the bag easily held all of our clothes and a pair of flip flops. The outer compartment is where we had our personal items. This too was deep and held more than I initially though it would. Finally, the rip cord on the final outer compartment was great to hold all sorts of things we needed quickly. The two side straps were used into the trip to hold umbrellas for two of us and hoodies for the other two. Also other things could be attached in this manner. Two of the bags were stuffed the entire trip and none of the zippers experienced any stress. Everywhere we went, people were amazed that this bag was all we took on our trip. For their small size, they really could be stuffed with a lot of items. They also easily fit on top of all storage shelves on trains and planes we encountered. All in all we were very satisfied with these packs.
