Poor quality , good backbone
I bought this rod for plugging stripers in the back bay. It has a good stiff backbone that is good to get a great popping action. The problem I have is that the reel seat lock down nut came apart. It is a piece of aluminum that is glued to plastic . It is not glued very well. The first time I mounted a reel the aluminum separated. I was able to glue it and has held up so far. This is not something you would expect to happen on a $120 rod . Luckily I purchased it on sale for $40.

Nice rod? or Penn showing [*]qualit?
Nice rod purchased for my Penn Conquer 7000 however never used just screwing on the reel to the brand new rod the plastic price with groves to hand tighten detached and left my reel stuck on rod... Went back and swapped for a just as strong and same weight class rod Star Rods*
