Rated 2 out of 5 by john Difficult instructions on putting it together.
I found the rack to be useful although I thought the directions were a bit difficult to follow. And we really had to experiment with the strapping before we put it to use for a long trip.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Meg Great concept; excellent execution
This arrived very quickly and was super easy to install. I holds two kayaks on our 2012 Civic very well and after a quick run through is very easy to mount quickly, and stores very easily. Big thumbs up on this one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Spibzy This product has great features
Easy to assemble, install and remove. I have 10 and 12 foot kayaks, they were solid on the highway with no noticeable movement. Fit great on my Tahoe with a factory roof rack.
The only improvements that could be done are:Add 1 foot to the blue strap that ties the two kayaks together, add rubber covers to the metal buckles on the straps ( like the competition has) and also some kind of locking adjustable things on the bow and stern tie down lines as I'm not good at tying knots.
Other than those three small things, it worked great, the price is great, nice quality product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Caresworthy Excellent product
have used this two times already. Instructions were easy to follow and we are leaving it on roof rack til season is over. We have 2 double kayaks and they stay in place - even when traveling at fast speeds.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Mark15 Excellent rack
This rack is very solid and easy to use. My only complaint is that the "safety strap" which is supposed to wrap around both kayaks is too short, so I had to buy a 12 ft strap to replace the 9 ft one that comes with the rack. Other than this I have had no issues. When using this rack I can drive 70 mph on the freeway without worrying about the kayaks coming loose or moving around.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Flat water Kayaker Rack does the job
Carried two 10ft kayaks 900miles on top of my van, often at 70mph, they rode great. Did have to tighten the straps after the first 50mi or so, I think the kayaks shifted in some way, then was good to go. Even when the straps were not completely snug the kayaks seemed secure on the rack. Tip, if the blue safety strap makes a wind noise, you might try a half twist in the strap as it spans the tops and bottoms of the kayaks. I did, and the whole assembly rode with no noticeable noise.

Looked on-line for a good kayak rack to transport two recently purchased kayaks at Dick's. The reviews per positive for the Malone Stax Pro2 Kayak Rack. I got a good deal ordering it on-line at Dick's with free shipping. My son and I mounted the rack and it worked well. It took about 30 minutes to figure out how to assemble and install the rack. After the initial install it was easy to use. Could install it in my sleep, once I had experience with the initial install. The rack did a good job transporting to a nearby reservoir. However, on the return trip there was a vibration/hum from the equipment on the roof of the vehicle. Maybe it is the angle/positioning of the kayaks on the return trip that caused this noise. A lady pulling a kayak on a carrier kept looking our way, and she asked where I got the rack, and wanted to know how I liked it. She never seen one like it and was interested in the performance, which I gave it a thumbs up :)

by BigT Worked well mounted on temporary rails
My 2011 Nissan Rouge has only verticle rails, so we found a set of portable cross rails from our local all-in-one store. The Malone Stax Pro2 attached easily and securely to these round rails and held a single kayak securely all the way home with a new kayak purchase. This included highway speeds of 65 mph+ with no issues. Everything was still tight and secure when we arrived home late. No reason to believe it would perform any less with 2 kayaks attached, especially with the additional strap to tie the 2 kayaks together. That is why we bought this product.
