FANTASTIC shoe I would consider myself an intermediate runner. I run paved trails/street 4 days a week, going 6 miles per run. I've recently added a REAL trail run into my regime every Sunday, and I wasn't sure which shoe I should be using for this. New Balance fit me the absolute best of any womens athletic shoe, and in conjunction with my OVERPRONATION, my run leader suggested these. She was right to do so-- they're just about the best compromise you'll find between minimal shoes and stability shoes. I can feel every surface change beneath my feet, I don't slip as much as before, and if I do fall, the upper fabric doesn't tear just because it's breathable. Favorite sneakers I've ever owned!!! These shoes are great! I was a little leery of buying shoes online that I've never tried on, but these are PERFECT! Sizing is pretty much normal, doesn't run overly big or small and they are very comfortable. I don't like to spend a lot of money on shoes, but I got these on sale and it was totally worth it. Great Trail and Hiking Shoes for Great Price I was searching for a pair of fairly inexpensive, durable, trail or hiking shoes as I am participating in a "mud run" (Spartan Sprint) later this month. I've participated in a mud run before wearing regular running shoes and couldn't keep my footing at all. I was sliding all over the place and about hurt myself a number of times! The tread on the bottom of these shoes is INCREDIBLE! I put them on and was surprised at how well they fit, how light they were, the amount of traction they provide, and most importantly how well they breathe. The only downfall is there is little cushion in these, so I would suggest either adding an insole, or just be mindful they're NOT meant for runners who will be on pavement. They're mainly for trail running, and I'm sure the support and comfort they do have will be sufficient. The purpose is to protect my feet and give me traction during this run. I won't be doing the Mini in them... I will post more about them once I complete the race. Very excited! April 17, 2013
