Comfortable show
This shoe is very comfortable, but not as soft as other quality running shoes. The soles seem harder.

The Beast; Too Beasty
While the Beast is a very comfortable running shoe, it feels bulky and heavy after a couple of miles. The hollowed out heal portion on the sole of the shoe causes a "clump" type noise each time your shoe hits the ground (I typically run on my toes or the front portion of the shoe); this is a little irritating. I just completed a 10K race with them and afterward while walking around they felt very comfortable.

order handled very well
bought a pr of shoes in a store but realized they were too tight. their person in the store made return and online order very easy. no hassles. they didn't have the width i needed in the store. hard to find 14 wides and i have almost no arch. so i'm kind of picky.

Brooks Beast is Still Purring
I suffer from chronic plantar fasciaitis and use supportive footwear even indoors to minimize the irritation. I wore out the upper edging and linings of my first Beasts with the frequent and careless slippings on and offs after several years. They lasted well and gave me all the heel support and overall stability I could have hoped for. I was fearing Brooks had dscontinued the line. But no - the new pair is even better - - and I picked the right size the first time! Thank you, Brooks and DIck's for the super service!
