Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 25 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Beggining hoopsters love using this product. Looks to be a sturdy piece of equipment. The boys use it daily. Not as easy to put up as it looks. Dick's charges for delivery and assembly are ridiculous. Boys love this product and will give the backboard a true test to see if it is entitled lifetime properly. April 10, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Beware the extra bolt and nut Put the whole basket together and found a leftover bolt and nut. So I frantically work backwards in the manual thinking I skipped a step and I find in small print that the extra bolt and nut "are not used in this assembly". So why the heck would you include extra parts? Makes no sense. Otherwise, it is a fairly simple assembly but just time consuming. Set aside 3-4 hours to complete the assembly. April 5, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Nice Hoop Mom here. I put this together with my 11yr old son. Truth be told, he held stuff so I could actually do the work. :) I'll recommend a rachet set and a wrench set with doubles of 1/2" and 3/4" and a drill. The assembly wasn't hard but we did it over a course of 2-3 days with an hour each day. It's really nice that you can easily change the height with the hydrolic handle, that was a nice bonus that we didn't have before on our old hoop. I'm glad we didn't pay the extra for delivery and assembly afterall, as it wasn't complicated and very do-able. January 28, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Very nice product, instructions could be better! Took 2 people and about 5 hours to put together. Handle mechanism is hard to figure out based on the directions. Bolts look very similar and get mixed up! You definitely need crescent/box end wrenches. Putting the gravel into the base was difficult, but once you buy a small traffic cone and cut the top to fit over the fill hole, it is a snap! Worth $12 and a trip to the hardware store! Stand on a ladder to fill it, your shoulders will thank you! After it is up my kids and I have used it everyday. It has really helped my daughter's shooting skills and confidence! January 14, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great quality basketball backboard and easy assembly Bought this at the Collegeville, PA store and received great customer service. Took some time to assemble (3.5 hours), but wanted to do it right and take my time. All of the parts were there and organized very well. Parts are organized by each step of assembly, so you only have to open one bag at a time. Parts identification in the manual was very helpful as some bolts look very similar but have very different uses. The self-tapping screws for the pole assembly and guards on the backboard were somewhat difficult and take some muscle and a good drill. In the end, my son and I are very happy and looking forward to playing many games. December 29, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great product for a backyard playground!! We have just purchased it at my wife's suggestion. It was a terrific idea she had. Kids enjoy the sport and are no longer bored in between daily "activities". Once again, my love had a great idea!! Try it you'll love it! August 19, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Pay the money to have some one else assemble! My husband and I spent nearly 4+ hours attempting to assemble this hoop for our children. None of the bolts or pieces were properly labeled and it turned out to be a horrible guessing game. 3/4 of the way thru assembly we realized we used the wrong size bolt in one section and had to remove it and replace it. Rated 5 out of 5 by After reading many reviews, I got this one. I bought it at my local store (Pottstown, Pa), The help from both associates was great. I took it home and assembled it in about 3 hours with help from my wife (she reads directions, I follow). All the parts were there and clearly marked. It is very solid and looks great too. Absolutely no complaints. July 17, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Portable Basketball Goal The goal is very good and thus far seems to be of good quality. July 3, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Could be better at this priice The goal is fine and is sturdy. I had to request a new lower tube part because there was not a slot cut in it to assemble correctly. No big deal. The problem is that this goal is pretty expensive and I think should have been $100 less for the quality of the backboard. It is a thin plexiglass and is a little wavy. It came preassembled so nothing that I did. The goal looks nice in the yard but when you shoot the ball against the backboard, I think people five streets over can here it. The back board could be beefed up a little and then it would justify paying $400 for the goal. Wait until the next higher up model goes on sale and you will be happier. July 2, 2013
