very sturdy portable hoop
this hoop is totally worth every penny. i weigh 280 and it still holds my dunks. says to buy 375 lbs of sand. i put 420 and it was perfect

Well worth the money and easy to put together
This is well worth the money. My kids are totally happy with it. And as for Dad it was easy to put together. Took less then a hour and the kiddos was playing on it.

Shatterproof a misrepresentation
Assembly was just okay. After 1.5 years of use the backboard shattered in 9 pieces despite the fact it says shatter proof right on the backboard. I have 2 very unhappy twin grandsons!
Talk about misrepresentation and then I get nowhere with Dick's in getting some satisfaction. I spent $2400. at Dick's last year-ain't happening again--I'll go somewhere else. To add insult to injury as a rewards member the dividend vouchers I receive have a time limit and getting 54 miles to use them is most inconvenient. What a farce!!

Assembly easier than expected
I read many reviews of portable basketball goals, all of them discussed the difficulty in assembly and gave long time estimates, including this one. With my wife's and granddaughter's assistance we went from start to finish in just under three hours. I have considerable mechanical experience and do not know if this made any significant difference in the time. We only made one mistake, using a 7 inch when we needed a 6 and had to redo the bolts, but this was mere minutes to fix.
The only thing I did not care for was the alpha coding of the fasteners. I am old enough that I am used to standard sizes 7/16 X 7 for example not AXB. This took up some of the time having to decode the hardware. The assembly itself is straight forward. Read the instruction completely first. Follow the steps and open the hardware bags as needed and the construction runs smoothly. All in all much less time assembling than anticipated.

Rock solid, long set up time worth it.
Assembly directions were easy to follow. The set up took 4-5 hours but it was worth it. We used play sand for base and made a small chute out of a plastic for sale sign to pour and shake the sand into the fill hole. Maybe get some dry silica sand for filling the base quicker.
