Pretty alright for the price
Lets start out with the statement, Its great for its price and also a great kayak for starters.Cons = cheap seats and straps Pros=good hull integrity, light weight, easy to maneuver, kayak glides easily through the water and is also pretty stable. i saw some people complaining it tips too easily but saw they were getting close to the weight standards and were very tall. Also lets be honest its a very thin boat thats very light. if you are 250 and 6'2 this isn't the kayak for you. I am 5'10 and weigh 185 lbs and it works just fine for me. My mother who is 65 years old hopped in and was going on her own "louis and clarke" expedition. Again the straps are cheap and have broken and foam seat has torn with only 2 weeks of light use. for longer distance excursions i'd recommend a supplement to the cheap seat with a towel or other comfortable seat to make the excursion more enjoyable..

Average Kayak at a great price
I wanted to do some 'Lite' kayaking on local lakes and mild river currents to enjoy the scenery and get an alternate kind of workout from running or lifting weights. As i also wanted to get some other family members involved but was not sure if we would enjoy it i did not want to spend alot of money. So i picked up two Pathfinder 100's at Dicks for under $200 each.
So far thngs have gone real well!
The pluses: they both fit insde my minivan, they are lightweight and easy to carry, they are durable #float when submerged and the foot pedals are solid#. I never feel like they will flip over. They are fun!
The minuses: The single keel hull means they are a little tipsy #not too bad# unless you sit lower inside the Kayak, for the same reason tracking is only okay. They have some storage but it is not a guarantteed dry area as water can get in.
Overall for the price the Pathfinder 100's are a great entry level Kayak that are relable and fun. They allow you to try it out without spending a pile of $.

Great Value, Perfect for Beginners
I bought this Kayak a few months ago, and have had some time to try it out. I decided to go with this model for a few reasons.
Price- at $200 this is a great value, I wasn't sure how often I would be able to use it, so I didn't want to spend a lot. I have to say that it is a great value, and I'm happy that I didn't spend more.
Weight- I live about a 1/4 mile from a lake, and I carry the Kayak there. This is one of the lightest Kayaks I found, and I can carry it with no problem. It is a workout though, and I'm glad I did not get a heavier Kayak.
Size- I'm 6-2 240, so I getting a boat that I would fit into was a concern. This kayak has adjustable footrests, and I actually don't even use the highest setting. I can re-adjust them when my wife wants to borrow it too. The boat is rated to 275, but I have to agree with the previous poster that the closer you get to this limit the more unstable it becomes.
The tracking isn't great, but its not horrible either. I bought the kayak mostly for paddling around a small lake and slow river and it is great for that. I'm not sure I would take it into a fast river or the ocean. My biggest concern with the kayak was the stability, some of the reviews indicated that its not very stable. There is a bit of truth to that, while I would not call the boat unstable, it is less stable than more expensive kayaks I have been in. I wouldn't let that be a deal breaker though, as with anything else, you get what you pay for and I feel like it is only slightly less stable than other boats that are several times more expensive. I never feel unstable or like it is about to flip. Also as other reviews have mentioned, the storage box does not keep anything dry, but that's not a big deal to me. Be sure to check the drain plug in the store, mine does not lock in place. Again not a big deal as it will still sit in the hole just fine. For just going out on the lake and having fun, this is a great kayak. If I really get into it I might buy a nicer one someday, but for a good entry level boat, I would recommend this one. Be sure to get a good paddle, and not a super cheap one, I'm glad I did!
Pros:
Value! Great way to test the waters without dropping a ton of cash.
Light weight
Durable, I've bumped a few rocks and no damage
Cons:
Stability and Tracking are just ok

Good Deal
I got one last year for my B-day. I mainly use it for river fishing. It was soon a family hit on the lake so I bought another one this year. We have already been out on the river. If you are looking for an easy to handle kayak on and off the water this one will work. I mainly bought this one for the price point. I am very pleased with the purchace to date.

This product is . . .
perfect! I bought two of these three years ago. Bought them on sale and they have held up beyond expectation. While a heavier person can cause bottoming out, no leaks have presented themselves. These are rugged, a no brainer when it comes to price and I would recommend them to anyone. Buying a third today.
The only thing I would suggest is a towel, or something soft to sit upon, when in these for longer periods of floating / paddling downstream. Great for beginners

Good Starter kayak
My boyfriend and I bought these 3 years ago. And doing so, it was my first time in a kayak. Im about to start season 3 with this and it has held up fine for recreational use. I use this in non-aggressive water. Some moving water, but nothing crazy. I am about 150 pounds and find it to be reasonably stable. I have never tipped this kayak, even when fishing and geocaching from it. That being said, I have been in some rental kayaks that have been far more stable (and I have also seen people flip out of those in calm water). As long as you are not planning on going in tricky water and estimate you have at least average balance, this should be a good bet to start with considering the price. I have a water proof bag I take to keep everything dry. I wouldnt trust the little compartment. One last note, I purposely asked for a scratched up one and received a discount. With all the scratches on it now, im still happy I saved the extra 10%. :-D

great value, would buy again
We bought 2 last summer and take them out almost every weekend. Our only regret is we didn't get them sooner. Perfect for paddling around all the lakes. The only negative would be that the bottom scratches pretty easily on gravel shores, but since we know that we're careful. No problems at all with stability, even when we took them out one windy day with waves as high as the kayak. It's not a thousand dollar kayak, but if like us you can't spend that kind of money on a kayak, this is perfect.

not stable!
Bought this one and a Future beach Fusion 10. No comparison. The Fusion 10 is very stable. This one is far too easy to flip over. This one is going back for another Fusion 10.

great value
My wife and I bought 2 of these last year. they worked great for what we wanted. Casual recreational use. I also added some angler items to mine with no problem and it worked well with that as well. If you want to just get out on the water and not worry about any thing other than being there then this is a great choice at a good value.
