Rated 4 out of 5 by Nes Great deal; straightforward assembly Sort of a mixed bag on the prior reviews I read so was not quite sure what to expect especially with a one star from a female reviewer. I concur with others that the assembly was pretty straightforward. I took the advice from one reviewer not to take the top pole out of the middle one (which was also in the instructions, btw) so no issues there. I did need my kid to hold the pole up for me to fix the hoop but that was relatively straightforward too once the holes were aligned. Overall, glad I purchased it and my boys are ecstatic! Not filling mine with water or sand; just got some play sand to put right on top of the base and that should do it with regards to my ability to move it around more easily and of course provide needed stability once being used in play. Rated 5 out of 5 by Bob96 Very Pleased I'm very pleased with this basketball hoop. It went together very easily and my daughters were shooting baskets less than an hour after I opened the box. The only tricky part of the assembly was getting the hoop, the backboard and the pole all aligned at the same time to get the bolts in. When the instructions say you need two adults for assembly, they mean it. With another adult to help, we got all three parts aligned and the bolts inserted without much trouble. Other than that, I was able to do most of the assembly single-handed. Once assembled and filled (I used water), the unit was very stable. My daughters have been using it daily and are thrilled with it. For the money, this is a great starter hoop for younger kids, and I figure I have several years before they outgrow it (or lose interest in basketball). I'm very pleased with this purchase. Rated 1 out of 5 by Frustrated Could not be assembled Went through all the steps to assemble the Basketball Hoop until the last one. The last step was to connect the basketball hoop and backboard to the adjustable pole and base. Only there was no way to do this because the holes to attach these were not there. Had to visit Dick's to assure that all the assemblies were the same. Fortunately the next box that we broke open and assembled was correctly drilled for the last strep to be accomplished. What a pain!! March 28, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by motch33 perfect for small patio Ordered online and when package arrived, looked like UPS ran the box over with the truck. Returned it to a local Dick's and got another with all pieces in tact. Was easy to put together, however I chose to fill the base with sand instead of water and that was time consuming. Wish they made the fill hole a little bigger so sand could have went in easier. Nice upgrade from my 6 year old's plastic Fisher Price hoop. My son loves the hoop and should get a several years of use, Overall I am satisfied with this product. June 27, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by pj Hardest thing I have ever put together! I am black and blue from trying to assemble this, and it is still not right. All of the parts were not there and the directions were very unclear. I should have sent it back, but am hoping to get someone that can fix it. Stay away from this unless you get it preassembled. Rated 5 out of 5 by Jackie Pay Special Attention To Pole!!!! The directions are very clear and the visuals are a plus! I made the mistake of not paying attention to how the poles are supposed to connect so attached them wrong. Took some WD-40 and a few drops on the ground, but I managed to separate them. It is a HUGE hassle trying to get them separated so you must pay attention to the directions. DO NOT take out the top pole from the middle pole. Just leave it in the middle of the pole as it comes packaged and attach the middle pole to the bottom pole. Hope this makes sense! Aside from the pole issue it was very easy to assemble and my 7 yr old loves the hoop! June 18, 2013
