Solid Purchase
Bought this to keep @ friend's house on a small quiet lake. It's ideal for this. My friend's Pelican looks likevavTorpedo compared to.my submarine looking kayak. The Pelican seems faster, but for $179 I couldn't find anything cheaper @ this length. Very happy with it and would recommend it at the deal I got.

Kayak is worthless
I bought this kayak to go down stream and fish out of it.
You get what you pay for.
I went to bank it to get out and have a snack, and it cracked 9 inches along the side. When I went back into the water, it kept sinking.
There were a bunch of brotados laughing at me as they paddled by. Probably because this Kayak looks/feels like I bought it from Dollar General.

not for rivers!!
These may hold up on lakes but I had 6 of this to go down the Chattahoochee River,-classI-II rapids, so nothing bad and had holes on the bottoms of all but one by mid-summer.
They are not strudy enough to take the pounding of the rocks and there waws a weak area just under the box .
My suggestion is go with a better model. We repaced these with Swity's and have had no problems so far!!

Great Recreation Kayak!
I bought this kayak at the beginning of the boating season in 2012. I am a 5'4" female and can manage to carry this around without too many problems. After a taking the kayak out on an inland lake a couple times, there were a couple small issues that I had to fix with it. The side rod/paddle bungee holes let water seep in a little. I bough some marine goop (marine silicone) and sealed the holes up. Haven't had a problem since. Another issue I had was not having an easy, secure place to quickly lay my paddle down. I bought a package of two rubber paddle clips. I drilled a d mounted them to the front of the cockpit. Problem was solved. Since I use this kayak to fish inland lakes, I also take a 5lb anchor out with me. To secure the anchor to the kayak, I have installed a simple nylon anchor cleat to the kayak too. Easy, cheap addition. Since a lot of people with kayak tend to customize their yak with components that they find useful, I think of this kayak as an on-going project. My next upgrade will be to add a flush-mount rod holder to it. But back to reviewing the stock kayak, it is VERY stable... I have been out in pretty choppy water and I have never felt that I was even close to tipping. I have also taken this kayak down slow moving river and it did great. It tracks very well. It is not the fastest yak on the water, but it is very easy to paddle in a straight line. I also like that the cockpit opening is on the larger side. It gives me plenty of room to unhook fish, bait my hook, kick back and have a snack. When I fish from this kayak, I will carry a tackle box in the cockpit along with a can o' worms, rod, small cooler, and minnow bucket. I have to say though, the bottle/drink holder on the front deck is worthless. Your drink just sets horizontal in the sun heating up. I never use it. It's a good place to drill out and install a rod holder or hatch with hatch bag. Great value and I highly recommend this kayak for the price. You really cannot go wrong with it it all. My next custom project on this kayak will be a set of lift handles on each side of the cockpit to be able to pick it up easier. Get this kayak, you will not be disappointed!!!!

Awesome entry level kayak
If you don't want to break the bank on trying out the sport of kayaking, this is the one for you. We have friends that own 5 of these so we bought 2 for ourselves ([@] [$]). We did a 4 hour kayak trip the first weekend we owned them and had a lot of fun. If you are a larger person like myself you may get some water through the paddle bungee holes but it is easily fixed with some silicone. I was the only one of our group of 5 that had that issue. Comfortable, lightweight and easy to use. Made by KL Industries who were awesome with customer service when I contacted them with a couple of small issues (store lost one of our paddles and the water seeping in).
