Rated 5 out of 5 by I consider this a "Best Buy!" Very nice, low price entry level kayak. I had a sit on kayak that made my back hurt like crazy, I got into this one and was pleasently surprised by the comfort level and just how nice the unit handeled and tracked, this is a very nice low end kayak that seems like it will last for years with the proper care. Rated 5 out of 5 by LOVE LOVE LOVE! This was my first kayak. extremely unexperienced kayaker. I lived close to lakes my whole life and wanted one forever so I finally bought one. this kayak feel extremely safe hard to tip over and is priced well. The kayak does not feel cheap. I own a jeep and it was easy to strap on top by myself, kind of heavy but I could do it my self. March 10, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Quality for the Price Have used this kayak about 30 or 40 times over the summer in lakes, rivers, and streams. It is the perfect length in that it is very stable and comfortable to sit in. It is light enough that one person can carry it and load it (which is extremely helpful). It is very durable and doesn't feel cheaply made. The only complaint I would have is about the positioning of the cargo box. It is kind of hard to reach when you're sitting in the kayak. But, it can be done and is great for holding fishing accessories. With a few small add ons (additional bungees on front and rod holder), this kayak has become amazing for exploring the outdoors and fishing in the warmer months. January 8, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great kayak I got this kayak as a gift back in June but was only able to use it for the first time the other day (September). My extended family have an array for kayaks including a few pelicans, a really expensve blow-up kayak, and cheap blow-up kayak, and my uncle borrowed a really nice ocean-going kayak. Compared to the Pelicans I'm used to, this had a cup holder which was great for my water bottle. The bottom is flat which was great for the spots on West Canada Creek that are very very shallow. And did I mention its great that a beer/soda can will stand up on the floor of the kayak without a problem? Unlike the other kayaks which all had rounded bottoms. The seat was more comfortable than the Pelicans' but not as much as the blow ups. The thigh rests are great for when I want to drag my feet in the water. I haven't adjusted the foot petals yet and probably never will because I don't use them. I wish the coolers were in the front of the kayak because I'm not that flexible and can't reach it behind me. Not a big deal because we usually pull up alongside eachother to get eachothers' drinks. But I see why the weight is best in the back. Only used the one time so far but I'm really pleased with it. For the people who are using this to go down rapids... it's not meant for rapids. You need to buy a completely different type of kayak for that. Duh. With that being said, West Canada Creek does have some very shallow parts, some very rocky part and some rapid moving water at times. I would have no reservations using this kayak for any of those situations. September 29, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Solid Purchase Bought this to keep @ friend's house on a small quiet lake. It's ideal for this. My friend's Pelican looks likevavTorpedo compared submarine looking kayak. The Pelican seems faster, but for $179 I couldn't find anything cheaper @ this length. Very happy with it and would recommend it at the deal I got. May 22, 2013

Rated 1 out of 5 by Kayak is worthless I bought this kayak to go down stream and fish out of it. You get what you pay for. I went to bank it to get out and have a snack, and it cracked 9 inches along the side. When I went back into the water, it kept sinking. There were a bunch of brotados laughing at me as they paddled by. Probably because this Kayak looks/feels like I bought it from Dollar General. May 13, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by not for rivers!! These may hold up on lakes but I had 6 of this to go down the Chattahoochee River,-classI-II rapids, so nothing bad and had holes on the bottoms of all but one by mid-summer. They are not strudy enough to take the pounding of the rocks and there waws a weak area just under the box . My suggestion is go with a better model. We repaced these with Swity's and have had no problems so far!! April 8, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Recreation Kayak! I bought this kayak at the beginning of the boating season in 2012. I am a 5'4" female and can manage to carry this around without too many problems. After a taking the kayak out on an inland lake a couple times, there were a couple small issues that I had to fix with it. The side rod/paddle bungee holes let water seep in a little. I bough some marine goop (marine silicone) and sealed the holes up. Haven't had a problem since. Another issue I had was not having an easy, secure place to quickly lay my paddle down. I bought a package of two rubber paddle clips. I drilled a d mounted them to the front of the cockpit. Problem was solved. Since I use this kayak to fish inland lakes, I also take a 5lb anchor out with me. To secure the anchor to the kayak, I have installed a simple nylon anchor cleat to the kayak too. Easy, cheap addition. Since a lot of people with kayak tend to customize their yak with components that they find useful, I think of this kayak as an on-going project. My next upgrade will be to add a flush-mount rod holder to it. But back to reviewing the stock kayak, it is VERY stable... I have been out in pretty choppy water and I have never felt that I was even close to tipping. I have also taken this kayak down slow moving river and it did great. It tracks very well. It is not the fastest yak on the water, but it is very easy to paddle in a straight line. I also like that the cockpit opening is on the larger side. It gives me plenty of room to unhook fish, bait my hook, kick back and have a snack. When I fish from this kayak, I will carry a tackle box in the cockpit along with a can o' worms, rod, small cooler, and minnow bucket. I have to say though, the bottle/drink holder on the front deck is worthless. Your drink just sets horizontal in the sun heating up. I never use it. It's a good place to drill out and install a rod holder or hatch with hatch bag. Great value and I highly recommend this kayak for the price. You really cannot go wrong with it it all. My next custom project on this kayak will be a set of lift handles on each side of the cockpit to be able to pick it up easier. Get this kayak, you will not be disappointed!!!! February 24, 2013
