Thule Trailway 4-Bike Hitch Vehicle Rack 4.5 5 34 34
Good except for womens bikes We have two adult bikes and two kids bikes. works great except a bit harder to attach the women's bikes with the slanted bar. But other than that it works well for what we wanted and expected. July 9, 2012
Perfect Bike Rack The Thule Bike Rack is easy to install and holds four bikes perfectly. No bouncing around while traveling on the highway or city streets. July 9, 2012
Got what I paid for! I originally purchased a Schwinn 4-bike rack from [@]... I returned it for the following reasons; cheap plastic adaptor for 1 1/4"-2" mount, couldn't fully open tailgate without hitting hitch, plastic straps that hold bike to carrier were solid which didn't allow tension when mounting the bike, bolt that holds rack to trucks hitch was small (unlike a normal 5/8" pin that usually holds hitch). After returning it and getting this new Thule Trailway, I couldn't be happier!!! Great quality, everything works as advertised and I don't have any of the issues as I did before. My bike stayed put when I drove to the trails. I'd definitely buy this again!!! The only thing I'd like to see is an additional hole so I could use a regular hitch pin instead of the bolt (although the bolt prevents it from having any play at all, which is great but inconvenient when going from truck to truck with the rack) June 4, 2012
Thule Trailway 959 I am still a bit puzzled by this particular model (Trailway 959) since the only web hits are for Dick's, there is no information for this model on the Thule website, and there does not appear to be any difference from the Thule Roadway 914. I believe the Roadway may be ordered (web) for a bit less than the Trailway but I wanted to get my hands on one to confirm the fit (Subaru Outback) and included items before buying. This was just what I wanted; Thule quality, anti-sway cradles, and folding. If you have women's, kid's and/or full-suspension frame bikes you will likely need a top-bar adapter but be warned that many adapters are too long to fit on kid's bikes (20-inches or less). It is not easy to load bikes on these types of racks due to the large cradles but that seems to be the case with any brand/model. I would still recommend this model over the more expensive ones.
