Gerber Dime Multi-Tool
Surprisingly Strong and Useful
I carry a large folding knife daily and this little tool comes in more handy for more things. First, I hardly know it's in my pocket, second, it has pliers _and_ a scissor, then third, it's strong and comfortable enough to use on cardboard and 10 gauge wire. It's a well made and useful tool.

Key chain tool kit
Really diggin this micro multi-tool ... the tweezers came in very handy the other day to get the pocket lint out of my BIC lighter lol.. very simular in size and weight to a Leatherman Squirt which is nice. The cutting tool for opening those plastic clam-shell packages is genius! What a great addition to a modern day multi-tool. The only reason it did not get 5 stars is they need to lose the knife on these things... I already carry 2 knives on me I don't need another..I think the type of person that carries a multi will already be the type to always have a good knife...I would rather see a can opener or maybe a larger file.

Nice, too heavy
This isn't a problem that's particular to this multi-tool in particular, but any. I hoped to have this accompanying a key fob and AAA LED light on my keyring. I definitely prefer a slimmed down set of keys, and unfortunately this thing just adds way too much weight. Otherwise well built.

general purpose use, does not take up much space, too small for anything but very light work

I bought this as a gift because I really
The pliers are great and can get in tight places like the fuse box on my car. But I really love the blade for cutting packaging. It works slicker than snot if you'll excuse the expression. One couldn't ask more from a small multi tool. Bottom line, would I tell a friend to buy it - no, because they make great gifts

Great quality product
I chose this multi-tool as a groomsmen gift. It's a great size, and still wonderfully functional. All the groomsmen loved it. Made extremely well, has numerous (not extensive, obviously) tools, and is a great "pocket-size", go anywhere multi-tool.

My favorite mini multitool on the market
I'm always on the lookout for a good multi tool that I can carry with me on a day to day basis. One of the challenges is trying to find one that has the tools that you'll actually need for every day carry. When I saw the features on this Gerber Dime I decide to pick one up and check it out. I like the styling on this thing. It has kind of a high tech look without going overboard. Starting on the outside, all of the external tools are very tight to deploy. This might get better through use. The first tool that you can see on the Dime is the bottle opener. It is always deployed and does not fold away. There's also a small ring for attachment to keychain or lanyard. It has a 1 3/8" sheepsfoot style blade. Pretty standard and should work for most light everyday tasks. There's not muche else to say about it except that it does not look threatening, which is a good thing. There is a medium flathead screwdriver and a small flathead driver that could also be used for some phillips screws. The small driver has a fine and coarse file on opposite sides, but the file and driver do not have a lot of clearance to work because of the lanyard ring and bottle opener. The most interesting tool is this retail package opener. It works on clam shell packages and does a great job as a box opener. I see more of this type of item on the market these days. It keeps you from having to dull up you main blade and makes opening clamshells a little safer. There is a also a small set of tweezers tucked away in the handle. The pliers seem OK for a multi tool this size. They are spring loaded and have wire cutters. They only come into contact at the very tip. The scissors are spring loaded but I find my thumb hitting the body of the frame before cutting all the way. With practice, I could get used to it, but I don't think I should have to get used to scissors. So what do I like about this little multi tool? The tool selection is pretty good overall. I like that it is a small package that has both pliers and scissors. I would say that for the price and size compared to these other small multi tools, you get a lot of good useful stuff that might come into play daily. The draw backs for me are a lack of a can opener and the weird thing with the clearance on the scissors. The files are almost worthless because of their size for everything except maybe fingernail maintenance, and that's only if you fold it half closed or have the multitool body extended. Don't get me wrong, the dime has lots of practical items and a compact size that allows you always have it ready. Pound for pound, it looks like keeper.

Worth the money!
I keep this tool with me all the time, Im always using it. I open my beer, cut open packages, bust out the scisors all the time. I bought this tool to fit into the fore grip on my assault rifle, it didn't fit but I have found more use for it in my pocket. Its variety of tools is nice, just wish it was a little smaller.
