Customer Reviews:

Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 5 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great value surf rod Although this Starr rod is not made in the USA like most of its higher priced counterparts, it is an excellent value buy for coastal surf fishing. I took this rod out a few weeks ago to do some striper fishing off of the NJ coast and it performed very well. It is rated up to 4 oz but had no problem handling a 6 oz piece of lead when launching chunk baits for stripers and blues. I would definitely recommend this rod to anyone looking for a quality medium weight surf rod for a reasonable price. October 30, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by An awesome rod for surf fishing. This is the second one of these rods that I have bought for surf fishing and it is the best that I have ever had. The rod is long enough to cast your bait far from shore. The medium action makes it great to tell when you get a bite, have fun catching ordinary fish like a flounder or pompano, and strong enough to land a bull redfish or a nice size shark. The one that I have had for two years still looks like new. A great rod with a medium size reel and 15 lb. test line. You won't be disappointed. June 13, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great surf rod I have been using Star rods for about 20 years. They have the best balance of quality and value. This rod performed great on the surf with good flex and sensitivity. August 12, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great rod for the price I've only had a chance to use this rod a couple of times since purchasing. I really like the feel and light weight of this 10' rod. It had good action and soft enough bend to whip out SP Minnows quite far. No problem handling Stripers, but not to sure on using this rod for chunking (with heavy lead). But from my experience with it, great rod for plugs and jigs. I'm going to buy a couple more for the fam, can't beat the price. May 1, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Excellent Rod for the Money In 2013 I did some cleaning and selling of older surf rods I had since the 1990s. I wanted to try and find a basic 8 footer that was light and had the perfect touch with a price under $100. 3 rods I compared were a Daiwa Emcast, Star Rods Aerial, and Sea Striker SS800. The Aerial is the one that made me very happy. May 2013 is when bigger striped bass started arriving in the local waters. I brought the Aerial rigged with a Penn Fierce 4000 and 30 pound Spiderwire Stealth and boy was I able to get those 1 ounce Rapalas and 2 ounce Cotton Cordells to those fish! March 2, 2014
