Rated 5 out of 5 by I got mine on sale for $49.99! But $69.99 is a great For the money and it just felt right in my hands. If you are a fisherman or Fishergal, you know when you like how a rod feels in your hands. I bought the 7'6" Heavy and feels like a Medium Heavy to me. You can cast this rod all day with no complaints! I matched it up with a Blue Quantum Exscalade HD 7.0:1 8 bearings baitcaster to it and did it ever become one awesome combo. I can sail a 1/2oz spinnerbait a country mile. Note: a country mile is longer than your city folk mile! BUY IT AND LOVE IT! I have horsed a 12lb Walleye and a 18lb Channel Cat like a pro! Take the rod and hold it like you are fishing. Have someone hold the tip to the throat and have them Hum. It will surprise you and let you know how sensitive this rod really is! The micro guilds help with a longer, smoother cast! Okay, I'm done! :) October 13, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by sweet rod for $80! I bought the 7'3" MHF "swimbait" rod 6 months ago and I use this for mostly spinnerbaits and chatterbaits. Sensitivity is second to none. Accuracy whether overhand, side/roll casting and skipping is very impressive. I've matched it with a BPS pro qualifier 7:1 with 14lb fluorocarbon and it makes for an awesome setup. Plenty of backbone to horse fish around timber and grass. Tough to beat for $80! March 13, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great rods These rods a very light and we'll made. Compared to high end rods they are right there beside them. We'll balanced and great sensitivity. I own 5 of them March 5, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Product!! I have the 7' MHF paired with a Quantum Escalade for my spinnerbait fishing, and I also own the 7`6" HEF paired with an Abu Garcia Silver Max for pitching/flipping. I was reading some rod reviews on a bass fishing website, and in one of the threads a tournament angler was talking about how much he loved these F&S Tec-Spec rods. After some more research that proved to back this angler up, I decided to check them out. I purchased these rods a year ago and fished with them from the end of February till October. LOVE THEM!!! Caught a lot of fish with these rods, and have absolutely nothing bad to say about them. I love the casting capability of the 7`. No problem skipping spinnerbaits under trees and docks. Plenty sensitive, but plenty of backbone for burning baits through the water or pulling out `ole bucketmouth out of the slop!! My flipping stick had no problem pulling out bass from crowded roots and stumpfields. I am going to buy three more this year. (2 for crankbait rods, and 1 for finesse on spinning rod.) I still like my G. Loomis rods, but these Tec-Spec's rule the roost if you want good looks, outstanding performance, and need to outfit yourself with multiple rods for multiple techniques without getting a 2nd mortgage. Give them a try! February 9, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fantastic Action I have two of the 6ft 10 inch rods matched with Pfleuger reels and using 14lb Bass Pro line that I use for crank baits, grubs, jigs, jerk baits, small top water, smaller spinner baits and have caught literally hundreds and hundreds of bass over the past three years......must say that I have been impressed by not only how far they will cast but how accurate I am at medium or short range.....and their power leaves nothing lacking either......I usually lip or dip bass over 4lbs but no problem swinging any fish under 4 right into the boat......tough rods take a beating here on Kentucky Lake and I usually break a couple every year but the beautiful blue rods are just as pretty as they were when I bought them at Dick's in Jackson, Tn.......all I can say is buy one and try it......I feel sure you will want another. Rated 4 out of 5 by Excellent Rod, poor durability I bought this rod in August to upgrade from my tec spec. I loved it. The casting was very accurate even in heavier wind and tighter quarters. The sensitivity was incredible and I felt everything that was in the water. However, after a few uses, the micro guide at the top fell off. I am pretty disappointed in the build quality of such an excellent rod. Regardless, I liked the rod when I had it. November 16, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Rod! Bought the 7'6'' heavy, and I love it. I have it paired with a Quantum Escalade, another great product, and it looks and feels great. This rod is very sensitive. It easily competes with my Veritas rods. October 19, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great rod and an even greater price. Performs as well as name brand rods at twice the price. The price point of these rods is excellent. Very sensitive and seem to be quite accurate in their descriptions of actions. September 18, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great rod After being asked several times by my 7yo daughter to go fishing, I decided I had to get us both rods. Hers was easy, but mine was a pain. Last baitcast I had was 25 years ago. After talking with the guy there, he told me to wait 15 minutes because the expert was coming in. I explained to him that I need something that is not insanely priced and for maybe 1-2 weekends a month (about 4 hours a month of fishing). He showed me the combos and said for the money, none are really worth it except for the Abu Garcia Black Max2 with Vengence rod (I could have gotten it for $49 after $10 discount and $20 rebate). He then said for about 2x the amount I can get about 5x better rod and reel. He had 4 Quantum Excalade HD reels on clearance for $35. He showed me the different rods and said the reel is excellently pair with this rod. As far as the rod goes, it is an excellent rod. It has the micro sized eyes. It is extremely light, very sensitive. I took it out this morning after getting use to all the new tech in the baitcaster. Nothing was biting, even for my daughter with live worms. I was casting a little shad lure. I felt the smallest of hits on it and set the hook. Not sure if it was a bass or not, but I did wind up bringing up a good size stick with it. I am sure that there better rods out there. I even saw them for $250. But for the $80 this rod cost, $35 for the reel, (my $10 discount and another $25 the expert gave me), this is an excellent combination for my needs. A little more than I wanted to spend, but no issues at all. September 7, 2013
