An update to a classic
I've been using Coleman lantern mantles for nearly 40 years and my Dad far longer than that. The first real improvement is the clip. Now it takes a second to remove the old one and install the new one. No more tying the little strings, trimming them or trying to dig them out of the little groove. Clip on, clip off. Done. Great improvement on a simple item.

The tie on mantles are better
Used these on the last camping trip. The insta clip is totally unneccessary - its just as easy to tie on a mantle. In fact, the clip was harder to use than the tie on style, and the mantle burned poorly as a result of the metal clip.
