Well-balanced combo I bought a pair of Fierce 6000 rod/reel combos recently for saltwater near-shore fishing for kings, cobia, amberjack, etc., and spooled them with 300 yds of 50 lb braid. I haven't had a chance yet to use them but I expect they'll perform well based upon my excellent past experience with Penn reels for more than 40 yrs. April 25, 2013
Awesome Penn combo I bought this Penn combo after looking for a rod and reel that would have some back bone for offshore fishing. Went fishing on April 16 a few days after buying the combo and i caught two red groupers 22 and 24 inches long. Boy was i happy. I put the rod down and the captain of the boat grabbed it and sent down a sardine on this combo he pulled up a 7 ft black tip shark with this combo. Wow. Oh yeah i had 65 pound braided power pro and a 40 pound leader of monofilament. Im glad i got this for my bday present to myself. April 24, 2013
Awesome deal for jetty/surf Great product at unbelievably low price. Under $100 bucks gets you the entire setup worthy of saltwater fishing. Penn did good with the Battle and Fierce series. March 26, 2013
This product has great features I found this rod and reel combo to be a perfect fit as an addition to my gear. It works perfectly for coastal fishing, and the ability to put 400 yards of 30lb braid allows me to put a lot of pressure on the fish. March 11, 2013
