Gamo Bone Collector Bull Whisper .177 Caliber Pellet Gun 3.7 5 42 42
Rating gun only After a bad experience with a Gamo Whisper I went back and swapped for the Bone Collector edition. It came with a Gamo scope, but I chose to not use it and put an old Golden Antler 4x12x40 I had on one of my deer rifles. I used the rings from Gamo because you pretty much have too. Within 5 shots o was shooting a 1 inch group at 30 yds. I even took a few clothes pins off the clothes line with it. (Something I used to do with my crossman many year ago as a kid.) Great gun just upgrade your optics and you will have a lot of enjoyment. Also, don't let the suppressor fool you. As loud as a .22. January 9, 2015
Gamo Bone Collector is a great air rifle I just recently purchased this gun from Dick's (absolute best price!). After reading the complaints about the noise I decided to test it myself. It is not as quiet as the Gamo video leads you to believe. There is a distinct "crack" when discharged. However it is NOT as loud as a .22LR as some would have you believe. I place a sound meter 2 feet away and perpendicular to the muzzle. It measured -86db with a 7.56 gr. pellet. A .22LR measures -137db. Significant noise reduction for hunting but loud enough to alert neighbors if your shooting in the backyard. Excellent trigger, excellent accuracy for a hunter, mediocre scope. November 24, 2014
Great first pellet gun!! Great product but not as quiet as I expected. Whisper is not a word I would use. Accurate and well made. November 18, 2014
Overall nice gun Plenty of power, scope not the greatest but ok at closer range..Fast shipping August 2, 2014
Needs a better Scope Louder than I expected with Whisper in the name. Shoots well. I would have been happier to pay a little more and get a better scope. Sight through the scope is great but sighting in the scope is tough. My son and I shot 20 times or so and still didn't have the scope zeroed in. June 25, 2014
Great rifle/ bad scope The rifle is super accurate and very powerful. This is an adult air rifle. However the scope will not hold it's zero. I contacted Gamo and they are sending me a replacement scope. June 24, 2014
Best product for the money Easy to sight in. Sounds like a 22 when fired. Dead on at 20 yards but much further when the wind allows. Capable of taking down small game. I don't have Egrets eating the fish in my pond anymore if that tells you anything, For 250.00 buy this pellet gun. May 6, 2014
This is not a toy! Quiet, no, but neither is a whip when it breaks the sound barrier. Sounds like a .22. About the only bad thing I can say about it. Shot high and right out of the box but dialed it in after 20 rounds at 30 yards and was getting them in a 5" grouping. Heavier rounds will help with the accuracy and noise level a bit. For newbies, dialing in a scope, the elevation and windage adjustments click. 1 click for 1/4" at 100 yrds. So go 25 yards and 4 clicks for an inch. I see people complaining about how much they have to adjust the scope and that's not the gun but the operator imo. Adjustments are made to move the impact point to the cross hairs. Shooting high and rght. Adjust down and left. A nice gun for the buck, very impressed on its penetration. Puts to shame my 600fps variable speed bb gun i been using. After 100 rounds at 60 yrds I got a 8" grouping. About as good as it gets with .177 April 25, 2014
Shoots great but... Dont get me wrong, this rifle shoots great. But for the money.... there should be iron sights with the scope. This is the second Gamo scope I have sighted in and it was painful both times. Elevation was a snap but the windage took almost ten full turns. One full rotation moved 1/4 at 100'. Btoh scopes of the same make on two differenrt Gamo rifles were 5 to 6 inches shooting right. However, once sighted, dead nuts every time. As for the "suppressor" it's still pretty loud. Check with local laws before buying and shooting in your backyard. March 25, 2014
good for an air rifle It has plenty of power. It's not that quiet like it promises, that is the biggest disappointment about this air rifle. It is fairly accurate; most break barrel air rifles fall victim to this flaw. Over all I like it for what it is- a suburban hunting rifle. It will take out all the squirrels, rabbits, rats, ect to your heart's desire but this is not a precision air rifle. Its a little quieter than my old Gamo break barrel but I am chalking that to the gas piston February 25, 2014
