Gamo Bone Collector Bull Whisper .177 Caliber Air Rifle with Scope 3.6 5 12 12
Powerful- This gun is loud because it breaks the sound barrier, I shot the high speed platinum pellets and it penetrated a plastic highway barrel, both sides went right through it like swiss cheese, very surprised. I shot clean through a 1/2 inch piece of plywood and penetrated another. The high speed rounds really aren't that bad as accuracy, just buy heavier grain ammo and accuracy dramatically increases. I hit a sign 100 yards away about 12 inches big without site-ing gun, with high speed rounds. I would recommend it for sure, this thing is lethal- December 3, 2012
Good Pellet Rifle Highly accurate and Whisper Quiet. Easy to shoot. Reasonably priced as well. Nothing more to say about the rifle. November 2, 2012
Does not whisper. Very inaccurate. I've owned many air rifles, some with scopes, some without. I purchased this rifle because they claimed is was 50% quieter. The first time I shot it I was surprised at how loud it is. But, the more rounds I sent down range, the quieter it got....or I just got used to it. But it never got as quiet as I expected. Definitely not 50% quieter than a normal rifle with the same velocity. Almost 100 rounds later and it was still pretty darn loud. Zeroing in - This air rifle has no open sites so you have to use a scope. I chose to use the one that came with it. I set up my shooting bench and cradled the air rifle on it. I set the target up exactly 30 yards from the end of the barrel. I aimed for the bull and the first shot went high and right, about 7 inches from center. I made no corrections to the scope to get an idea how it would group and sent another round down range. That shot was about 7 inches low and left - 14 inches from the first shot!! The 3rd shot was low and right. This gun was all over the place. I started trying to make adjustments to the scope and sent a total of 50 rounds down range at 30 yards. The grouping was terrible. I moved my bench 20 yards from the target and sent another 30 rounds down range. The best group I could get was about 7 inches at 20 yards. This is the most inaccurate air rifle I have ever owned. I took it back to Dick's. October 13, 2012
alot of money and not pleased Nice looking gun but that's it! The first one I had to take back it kept jamming up in the trigger sometimes it would shoot and sometimes it wouldn't . After the tenth shot it wouldn't do anything . The second one it was never a accurate shot always all over the place and the pin on the cocking arm came out half way . It's up to you . A lot of money in headaches !!! September 10, 2012
Silencer? Use it for target practice - just to keep up the practice of squeezing the trigger. Trigger is OK. As powerful as expected. Looks nice. Not sure what the big thing on the end of the barrel is for - its just as loud as any other break barrel air gun - too loud for the neighborhood. Scope is pretty cheap. September 9, 2012
ACCURACY ++ Much better than the Gamo "Big Cat". July 23, 2012
Nice air rifle This is a nice airrifle (scoped). They claim it can do 1300 fps with the plantinum rounds, but reading more about air rifles, I have yet to run into a break barrel what can do even 1000 fps, let alone 1300. Most rifles what can produce that kind of velocity are competitive air rifles with a gas chamber. The platinum rounds, which they say to use to achieve 1300 fps (50 come with the rifle) are very inaccurate and in my opinion useless. These rounds do not hit the target (5") at 50 yards. I recomend to use hunting rounds when sighting the scope at 20/25 yrds. All in all a nice air rifle for the price, especially when you use hunting rounds, makes very nice and tight groupings. If you want to kill small game, you will have to get close ~ 25 yrds. When you want to let kids use it, I recommend to stay with them, not only for safety, but also that most likely they won't be able to charge the rifle (need a bit of muscle), which in itself makes a nice safety feature. Speaking of which, the trigger has a manual safety build in as well. July 16, 2012
NOT WORTH THE MONEY This Air Rifle says Whisper Quiet but I assure you it is not close to that at all. For less money much better off buying the another rifle that shoots same speed and just as loud. May 28, 2012
