DeMarini Voodoo Youth Bat 2013 (-13)
LISTEN TO THE REVIEWS ABOUT THE HANDLE...I DIDN'T
Bought last night, used with coach TODAY...30-40 PITCHES (not hits) with baseballs, the handle, as mentioned in other reviews--COLLAPSED or "TELESCOPED" into barrel. Since its weekend, I submitted warranty clam with Demarini.....based on their message, I should get a reply MON. We'll see....but this bat hits like a $150 bat, but the construction design between the handle and the barrel is apparently that of a $15 bat. UNBELIEVABLE....I reviewed bat on another site w/ dozens of reviews...nothing about this issue.....there are NOW 4 on this site....I should of listened.

The voodoo-13 seems to be the ticket. Let me start by saying a bat doesn't make a child hit the ball. Practice and hand to eye coordination allows you to hit the ball. This being said my son has always been a great batter. We were looking to gain some length with a great performing bat and not gain any weight. I took my son to do some batting practice. I was pitching and the speed that ball came off the bat was more impressive than his all composite bat he currently is using. Large sweet spot. Great response when hitting.

The bat started out great for my son, but by the end of the first practice the handle was collapsing into the barrel making it completely unusable and dangerous. I coach two teams and this happened to another player as well. I will definitely tell all my parents and players to avoid this bat. Demarini warranty is a hassle and is unacceptable. It has now been two weeks and I still have no replacement. Wondering if it will arrive before season is over and not sure I even want the replacement of such an inferior product.

What a failure of expectations! After only several hits the composite handle now comes loose and slides into the barrel. Not only disappointing, but inconvenient. After paying this much for a youth bat I would have expected it to be more durable. I say choose the Easton S-1 over this bat anyday!

My son's first expensive bat, and it hasn't disappointed us. Ball comes off bat extremely well with a lot of pop. He is playing little league minors (10-11) and has several hits to the outfield.

We bought the bat and in less than 3 hours it was broke. We took it back to Dick's, and they did exchange it BUT YOU CAN NOT TAKE THE PLASTIC OFF OR HAVE ANY SCUFFS ON IT AND THEY WILL NOT EXCHANGE OR REFUND IT, AND THE WARRANTY IS VOID IF YOU USE IT IN A BATTING CAGE!

I got this bat before districts with my travel team as an early birthday present. The practice that day I got to try it out. I hit 3 doubles and a triple. I was amazed about how fast the ball came off the bat. And it doesn't sting your hands at all. This is a great product.

Great bat, but weight incorrect
I bought a 29/16 and this bat was great for the bigger kids. My son is smaller (which is why I bought a 16 oz. bat). It was too heavy for him. When I weighed this bat on a food scale it was 18.5oz. This seems to be standard for Demarini bats. I will be selling it for a true 16 oz. bat. Make sure the weight is really what you want before buying.
