Quest Premium Level Croquet Set 3 5 2 2
Better than expected, time will tell Purchased this set as a gift for a non-profit group, particularly because it came with a storage stand and the mallets had stripes to match the balls. Purchase this set knowing it may come with flaws, but good for casual play. If you are a croquet tournament player, it won't stand up to the use and the wickets are wider than tournament style. For what we paid, it seems OK with a BUT FOR: got a small cut from the broken staple pieces sticking out of one mallet head (very sharp and dangerous, we removed the pieces with pliers); one of the mallet heads had two deep scratches completely thru the finish (not worth returning and waiting for another set); we aren't sure if the twist connection between mallet and shaft will hold (we can always use superglue if not); the stand still had an industrial staple stuck halfway into it and we had to drill news holes for the front ball holder board connection (original holes on one side were 1/4 inch off from the opposite side so that the balls rolled and fell through the bottom on that side - it looked ugly and really obvious that the original connection was off, NO quality control). In the end, we liked the set (not a $200-$500 set) but, as said, time will tell if the mallets will hold up to regular play. May 23, 2013
pretty but shotty craftmanship I am not at all happy with what was delivered to me. first off the holes for the screws were not lined up correctly. I had to have one of my guy friends come with a electrical screw driver and re-A-line the holes so the cart was actually flush and correct. It is a beautiful wood and the cart is great but don't think you will be able to put this together with out an electrical drill. second there was some major gashes in the cart on the base and on the top. It looks bad. third the holes for the stakes don't even fit the stakes. they can sit in in the holes but any movement and they are out. the tips are just sitting in the hole and can not stand up straight. For a product that cost $119 dollars and does not come with wheels like the pictures shows I at least expected the rest of the wood and cart to be of a higher quality. It really upsets me that the manufactures could not even take the time to make sure the holes were lined up correctly. I am not going to take the whole thing apart just to return it but I do feel that the price vs the product is not okay I would not recommend this set at the price that it is. It is slip slopped craftsmanship, with large gashes. . May 21, 2013
