Customer Reviews:

Rated 1 out of 5 by Not worth the 70 dollars! I wish I had read reviews before purchasing this. This set was easy enough to put together, but NOT easy to get into the ground (and we do NOT have rocky soil) the pole just is so big, and not narrow enough to easily install. Even though 2 men worked to get it into the ground, and got it all the way in (after an hour) it wobbles around in the ground! This set definitely needs to be cemented. In addition, the clip has already broken. It's too bad. My kids were so excited. But the clip continually breaking, and the ball falling off, in addition to it being unstable, makes it less than enjoyable to play with. I wish I had saved the box so I could return it. Oh, it's been 3 weeks since we bought it, and the base is already rusting. Save your money. Don't buy this. July 20, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by cost effective I bought for the price a decent teatherball set. 1. It was cheap 2. easy install 3. Didn't expect much from it For what it is its good, but honestly if my wife didn't buy it outright I would have purchased better quality materials and made a better set. these are simple to make and she definatley overpayed as I've repaired it 3 times (not the same fixes). Where the poles join they easily bend outwards the more the game is played. I would consider welding them if you have the means. The metal clips are trash, just tie the rope through it. The ball is cheap and hard. if you can buy a nice leather one and your hands will thank you. taking them down and placing them inside is a must as weather takes its toll on these balls. Rated 2 out of 5 by Too Flimsy The overall pole is to flimsy and loose. Thats if you can get the whole pole in gorund, must find a very saturated patch of grass. Also the step is not stable enough, had to have a welder re-enforce as it bent initially. June 11, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Keeps detaching When playing, certain twisting of rope allows latch to keep detaching from top of pole. On the other rope end, we cant seem to keep the knot tight enough so as not to keep having the ball fly off the rope when being hit. The constant 'letting go' from one end or the other is not fun. Your (the companies) suggestions are welcome, as we do like the game. June 13, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Beware [$] for a tether ball set!!! Purchased it anyway thinking that it looked pretty sturdy and would last a while. My kids used it 2 weeks and the metal started splitting up the side!!! We'll see if Dick's Sporting does anything to make it right!!! The eye bolt wasn't long enough either so we had to go to the hardware store and purchase another June 10, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Solid Product We bought this for my 9yr olds Birthday - it was easy to assemble and she has enjoyed it. It has a stake on the bottom so you don't have to cement it in to the ground, but that does make the poll a little wobbly. June 25, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Poor quality The tetherball pole was easy to assemble but after about 30 minutes of use the pole split right up the middle where you could see the seam where it was molded together. I would imagine they would all do this at some point of use. October 22, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Marginal Foot supports for setting in ground bend after one use Ball covering not leather as store associate stated Next model down (less expensive) probably a better buy July 7, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Teather ball unacceptable Within one week the ball deflated. We bought it for our grandchildren and found it to be very hard (the ball) .... hurting hands... it really is geared for adults not children... and not all adults... after one try... I was done June 27, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Fine Product Not sure about all the bad reviews. Ours has lasted a year now and only met its demise when a construction truck from the house building next door ran over it. The design allows for disassembly so I'm not sure how it could be more sturdy. Also not sure about the eye bolt - mine went together just fine. Product in my opinion is exactly what I expected when I purchased it. The only negative I would give is that the ball is very firm and would probably be uncomfortable after a bit. We tend to play for around 10 minutes so not an issue for us. October 20, 2012
