Fills you up and then some! I bought the Pad Thai to try something new on the trail. After packing out eight miles (a trial trail run) it was time for supper. I popped the bag open followed the instructions and chowed down... Then a strange thing happened. I had leftovers. Since I was heading back to the car I decided to reseal the bag put it in a ziploc and hold onto it. Usually a two serving pouch is just about one meal for me after a good hike. This two serving pouch was closer to one and a half meals. My only real gripe was the number of small plastic bags contained within the main pouch. Not a huge burden to pack out a little bit of extra trash but it means I prob will save this for a end of hike meal. Overall I would suggest giving this a try if you are looking for something different than beef stew or the various incarnations of mac and cheese. May 21, 2013
Healthier Than Mountain House This goes for nearly all of Backpacker's Pantry meals: half the sodium and twice the calories of Mountain House dehydrated meals. Three to five times the dietary fiber of MH meals and 0% cholesterol. More calories equates to more energy in a hiking/backpacking/survival situation and at the same price as Mountain House entrees, Backpacker's Pantry value can't be beat. I found my new brand of backpacking meals. April 2, 2013
SURPRISINGLY GOOD I am a fan of Pad Thai, and while I did not expect a whole lot from a freeze dried version, I thought I would try it out on a recent Cub Scout campout. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised and it tasted quite good. I will buy it again. October 17, 2012
Easy to prepare and a plentiful amount. Ease of preparation and low weight of product made it ideal for backpacking. Filling meal at the end of a long day of hiking. May 21, 2012
Carbs count for Omnivore After 12 miles on the trail I was looking for something filling and tasty. The Pad Thai by Backpacker's Pantry fit the bill. With claims of enough for 2 servings I was hoping that this would be enough to satisfy my appetite. It was. That was a relief as other dehydrated meals have come up short in the past. Taste wasn't bad either. I won't stop dining out with this product but I will consider it on other backpacking trips. May 14, 2012
nice deviation from regular pasta/beans I usually feast on pasta primavera from Mountain House and was unsure about trying another brand. As a vegetarian, there are not many commercial options for prepared backpacking food for me. This was a nice change, though too much in quantity for one 115lb person. It was also low on salt, but fine in every other way. April 23, 2012
Super Tasty & Filling This stuff is awesome! It comes with a pack of organic peanut butter, which I thought was pretty cool. It's has a really great combo of spicy, sweet, peanut butter flavors. It's really easy to make, and it was super satisfying after my 14 mile hike. My boyfriend and I shared it for dinner and it was plenty of food for both of us. We of course left a little room for roasted marshmallows :) But, I definitley recommend Backpacker's Pantry Pad Thai! Super tasty! March 27, 2012
