DO NOT PURCHASE I used this bike rack for three bikes to drive six hours to key west and back again. By time I got home there was paint taken off to the primer on my trunk. A week later I used the bike rack again to drive 5 1/2 hours to Marathon (also in the keys) and when I got home I have an area larger than a silver dollar that removed the paint down to the metal which I now have to get a quote and repainted. The rubber foam vibrated to the side exposing the the metal rack to my trunk. The $1,000.00 it will cost me to re-paint my trunk in not worth the price of this rack. March 11, 2013
Solid Construction Purchased with the help of a gift card I received for coaching youth soccer. I used this rack once so far to transport 1 Adult bike and 1 Medium Child's bike about 200 miles on a Dodge Grand Caravan, though it also fits my Honda Accord. It's the first bike rack I've ever used. It was very simple to install out of the box. Once I learned how hard I could crank on the straps to tighten it down, it didn't move. I did not notice any damage from the clips on the trunk. The clips are labeled (top, rear, side) for easy installation. The clamps rotate around the bar for easy adaptation for many different styles of bike. The box and instructions said it included 2 extra wheel straps and I only found one. But with more than enough extra strap once tightened down and knotted, I was able to tie up each wheel and have extra to use however I wished. On one leg of the trip one of the clamps partially disengaged though I did not notice it until removing them upon reaching our destination. We will be traveling a similar distance soon with an added adult bike and I have no concerns it will handle any differently. July 10, 2012
