I had these boots for a winter season in SW Montana, West Yellowstone to be exact. I worked at a local hotel for the winter which had its fair share of deep snow, cold -32 temps, howling wind, ice etc. Now I challenged the company Sorrel by taking these boots out and put them to the test for they stated up to -60. I went out on many occasions and they were awesome. I like the fact that they feel snug, you can tighten them not only at the top but around the ankle with the belt clasp. There were a couple of times my toes did get a chill and that was because I had been out all day, had waded in the Madison River when a snow shelf collapsed. For the money, under $150, they rock. If you are going to be outside all day I suggest wearing something called a " storm sock" which is a "neoprene" sock designed for subzero weather. The storm socks are around $30 pair and I highly recommend them.
This is a great boot, they were just a tad bit too small for my size 15 feet but plenty wide enough, they felt great but just too snug after hours of snow shoeing in deep powder.
