Brooks Ghost 5 I love Brooks Ghost 5 running shoes. Now that I'm older (much older) I was having knee and hip issues due to not having proper alignment, etc. I did get fitted to find the proper shoe for my specific needs. My Second Pair of Brooks for a Good Reason I am a 54-year-old recreational runner who runs about 2.5 miles per day, five times a week. I've been running for about five years. After my first pair of Brooks running shoes wore out, I thought I'd change to another brand. After trying on several other major brands such as Nike and Asics, I ended up going back to Brooks. For me, quality of cushion, sturdiness and other fundamental construction features are very important because of my age and the protection I need for my joints. My first pair lasted almost three years before the heels deteriorated to the point of requiring replacement. Not one seem came apart in the old pair. They are also very comfortable and like running on air. I've had problems with other brands in this area but never with Brooks. The Brooks I've purchased twice now are on the expensive side but given their quality, I would say their cost performance is excellent. May 21, 2013
Best Sneakers Ever! I suffer from shin splints and have had to use compression socks every time I walk. A friend recommended Brooks. I went to the East Hanover store and the sneaker associate was knowledgeable and very helpful. He recommended the Brooks Ghost 5. Awesome sneaker. Great fit and quality. Great shoe, great stability! Excellent stability shoe for every activity. I wear these shoes constantly; at the gym, walking, biking, everyday activity. Pretty good, but a bit clunky. The Ghost felt wonderful when I put it on in the store, but once I got home and wore it around a bit, I noticed that it made my forefoot numb if the laces were even slightly tight. The shoes are also not as responsive and nimble as I had hoped, but the cushioning is substantial and they fit around my foot well, though like all Brooks, they run small. They come up high enough around the ankle and offer a snug fit, so I haven't experienced any rubbing or friction. So, they'll be OK, but not the new and improved ride I had hoped for. May 10, 2013
