Rated 4 out of 5 by john Great Price for Drinking System
I was looking for a Camelback to use on long runs. I saw this one for a lot cheaper. Turned out to be a great buy. Wore it on a 20 mile run and it was very comfortable. Only issue is that the drinking tube gets kinked easily. I would still buy another one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Randy Great Product for the Price!!
Bought this pack for a 5 day music festival and it worked GREAT! The top to the hydration pack is a little tricky but fits perfect once the threads are aligned. Great size and comfortable to wear. The materials used to create the hydration system aren't as great as CamelBak but this system still works fine.
Overall: you can't get a better product for the price.

Rated 3 out of 5 by dan Returned item
The delivery hose on this item is made from an inferior product. It had been "kinked" during packaging and shipment and did not "relax". It would not allow water to flow. Otherwise it was light and inexpensive.
I returned item to store for credit with no hassle. I ordered a more expensive brand with a silicone based hose.

Rated 5 out of 5 by SuzzyBee Great product!
I bought this the day before my first Spartan Race, and it worked great! I ran it through the mud, literally, and it was great. I had read reviews about it leaking, so I made sure to line up the treads and test it once it was full - I had absolutely no issues with leaks.
I absolutely recommend this product - it's inexpensive compared to some other brands and it's durable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by takeahike23 Decent hydration pack for the price.
I don't do a ton of hiking, maybe a few times a month, but I needed a hydration pack for when I do. I was hoping to find something with a few extra pockets to keep a headlamp, my keys, a knife, a small first aid kit, and some food. I've heard good things about Camelbak, but for how often I would use it, I couldn't justify spending $75+. This Koppen pack was exactly what I was looking for, without the high price.
I've used it three times (one intense 4mi hike up and down a mountain, and two shorter, easy hikes) and it has been great. I haven't had any issues with the bladder leaking as other people have. I think the cap is a bit tricky to get tight, but if I'm careful and make sure it's threaded properly, it doesn't leak. It easily fit everything I wanted to bring with me with room to spare.
I only have a couple small issues with it. When I purchased it, the button that holds the bladder in place inside the pack fell off. But I don't think it was really necessary anyway, so it didn't bother me. I could easily reattach it if I wanted to. Also, the mesh fabric chafs on my shoulders when I sweat if it's against my bare skin. I was wearing a tank top the first time I used it and it was bothering me a bit, but I wore a t-shirt the next time and it was fine. And the last issue I have with it is that it holds onto odors of the bodily type, if you catch my drift. I need to wash it soon, because it absorbed my sweat and smells like BO now. It's also difficult to get the bladder to dry out completely. I may need to MacGyver something to prop it open to have it dry properly.
Overall, I'm happy with it. Once I start getting more serious about hiking, I will probably upgrade to a Camelbak. But for what I need and the price, it works.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Wildergoddess Leaks due to user error, not defect!
I purchased this hydration system from Dick's in June and have used it almost every day since then. I'm an outdoor professional who is hard on gear and have been quite happy with this system. I hadn't originally intended to buy the backpack, only a hydration bladder, but since the backpack/bladder combo was roughly the same price, I decided to go for it.
Many users have complained that the hydration system leaks around the filling cap. This is the case, however it is not due to a broken product. When screwing on the cap, it is essential to make sure that the threads are properly lined up, otherwise it WILL leak all over the place. However, with properly aligned threads I've never had an issue with this bladder leaking. To avoid getting wet, I simply screw on the lid, then tip it upside down to check if it's leaking. If water pours out the top, I try again. Annoying, yes; but for as little as you pay for this system, it's hardly a dealbreaker.
My only complaint about this system is the lack of straps holding the tube/bite valve in place. There are ports on each shoulder strap allowing the tube to alternate between the right or left sides. There is also a small elastic loop near the top of the right shoulder strap for the tube to pass through. However, that is all that exists to hold the tube in place on this pack. If you don't want the tube constantly flopping everywhere or ending up in the dirt when you put the pack down, you'll either need to tuck the bite valve back up into the backpack itself (I usually do this by looping it back up and tucking it in, rather than retracting the entire tube back into the pack), or add more retention straps. Personally, I sewed on two additional webbing loops further down on the shoulder strap to hold the tube in place, which was fine with me. Again, considering the low cost and high quality of this product, this wasn't a dealbreaker for me.
Overall, I have been very happy with this purchase. The hydration bladder itself is high quality and has stood up to the use and abuse I've put it through so far (including a 4 day backpacking trip where it was shoved into a non-hydration compatible backpack, had the full 40 lb weight of said pack resting on it, and got sat on a few times. Did I mention I was hard on gear??) The pack itself is quite small (Fits a rolled-up fleece sweatshirt or rain coat, cell phone, keys, and little else--particularly when the hydration bladder is full) but is the perfect size for an afternoon hike or outdoor concert. It's super comfortable to wear, well made, and very lightweight. If you're willing to put up with the quirks, or you're not too picky about them, this is an AWESOME product!
