When I saw this backpack on the floor of the mudroom, I thought my oldest son brought it for his freshman year at college. My initial reaction was wow, he has good taste. The next day I learned it cost close to eighty dollars and he bought it for his younger brother on my credit card! I nearly had a heart attack. I couldn't imagine anyone spending so much for a backpack. When my husband saw it (and he is very tight with money) he remarked how well it was made it and how it would last for years.

It's great! My back hurts less than with any other backpack I've ever used.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Bubba Very good quality
Bought it for my son who is in 3 rd grade. He loves it , and I like the support it provides as they tend to overload kids these days with heavy books to carry home.

Rated 5 out of 5 by elle55 It's Fantastic!
I'm thrilled with this product. It's so roomy, I can have my laptop and everything else I need for the day and still have available space for whatever: like a change of clothes if I want to head out after work. There are so many storage compartments you can't help but be well organized. I went to my local store and when they didn't have one in stock, they offered to order it for me and had it sent to my home. From purchase to delivery, it was a total of 4 days and that includes the weekend. And it's a North Face, so you know the quality is great and you'll have it forever! I would highly recommend this product-It's a keeper!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Mauser*Girl Excellent Day or School Pack
I bought this pack primarily because I am going back to school to become a Paramedic. I have been using one of my military packs (a 5.11 tactical), but having to switch stuff between school, work, and weekend hiking started getting really old. I did a lot of research before buying this pack because I wanted something I could use for school - something big enough to fit my books, notebooks, all those little things I tend to carry, laptop, etc. - but could also use for hiking once I'm done with the class. The biggest thing I found in reviews was that many reviewers said this has "too many compartments." That was EXACTLY what I was looking for. Lots of compartments to keep my stuff organized and separated. This pack is great quality and definitely has all the compartments you can shake a stick at. I love the laptop compartment in the back and the two zippered compartments on the front flap. Also love the bottle holder on the side and sunglasses compartment (which I usually use for my cell phone). Someone really put some thought into this pack.

my kids are very hard on backpacks, the Northface is rugged and made to withstand whatever my kids can dish out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jess Worked great for traveling.
I used this pack to travel around Ireland for about 9 days. I was able to fit everything I needed in it, and it adhered to the strict carry-on size requirements for American Airlines and Ryanair. I haven't used it for school books yet, but will be soon and hopefully it will fare just as well. I was concerned about rain and the water resistant properties of the pack, and the contents stayed dry throughout my trip.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Linda As per my son, this backpack delivers!
The Northface backpack is used for school. It has adequate pockets to carry water, etc. And, it's way cool and sturdy. We'd buy it again!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Mom of athletic kids rugged and versatile
I bought this for my college son. He uses it for everything from hiking to carrying a load of books. The construction is good and so far no pulling of the seams. It's well padded for a computer as well and sun glasses in the outside pocket are well protected. Definitely would recommend albeit a tad pricey.
