Rated 2.9 out of 5 by 45 reviewers.
Rated 1 out of 5 by I'm not happy with it I replaced a 12 year old smooth CE that had worn out with Epic A32. I was very happy with the Smooth unit, but the bearings were wearing out, so I replaced it with something with an updated console and (perceived) better quality. I purchased A32 from the store, after trying the various units in there. I chose A32 because I wanted wireless heartrate monitor. from Day 1 - the incline did not work, the right wheel squeaked, the foot pedals clanged, and there was a knocking from the left front side. It's like running on a rattletrap. Only - you can't run. Any cadence over 55-60 and the left side roller pops off the track and clangs on the machine and digs into my flooring. I Opened a warranty case with ICON fitness - who makes ALL of these, such as Epic, Proform, NordicTrack, etc (Lesson learned - I thought they were separate companies# 3 weeks later after parts arrive - and left side has started coming off the rails regularly now, a tech comes by and replaces part of the motor to make the incline work properly. He also adjusted a few other things, and ordered more parts. By this time, I have purchased a sheet of 3/4 plywood and made a base for the unit, but things are still rickety. The tech ordered a new incline, where the rollers work, to see if this stops the side from coming off. It's backordered. When I ask ICON support about when it will come "Not too long" is the answer I get. I asked "days, weeks, months?" and "soon": is answer I get (ICON check your chat logs to verify) So here we are the day after Christmas, midway through my 2 week vacation, and I cannot use the equipment that I purchased for daily exercise. And nobody from ICON can tell me when my parts are coming, and then the tech to replace them 5-10 days after that. I told the today that I wanted to replace it with a better machine, because this machine is not worth the $1000+ spent on it. They told me to contact my purchasing institution. I told them I would report my situation on social media. You're reading that. I dread what's next.. This is a very bulky machine that I built in place, and tossed the boxes and packaging. I have no idea how I'm going to get it back to the store for a return, or if they will even accept it at the store. I did not go cheap and expected quality for the price of this machine. I will give ICON one last chance with the upcoming warranty repair visit. I will come back and add/edit to this post if the upcoming repairs show that this is a quality machine, but my expectations are low right now. I purchased this machine over 2 months ago in late October, and I'm still not able to use it. December 26, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Poor Quality and Service We have owned our elliptical less than two years, and have regretted this purchase almost the whole time. We've had many service calls with ICON fitness, and they are not a customer service oriented company. They have replaced the computer component 3 times. The foot pedals have had parts replaced 3 times because the broke off and jumped off the track. It has always been a loud machine that clacks and clangs. We were promised by ICON that after the third service call, they'd replace the machine. That never happened. The machine must not be made for daily use. Or maybe it's just manufactured poorly. Either way, we spent a lot of money on a machine that doesn't work more than it works. And it's serviced by a company that appears to know nothing about customer service. I will not invest in another brand "covered" by ICON. And I will never buy another Epic product. Time, money, and joy sucker-- that's all it is. December 17, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Elliptical I got this elliptical 2 days ago and so far it is great! Installation was very easy (its a 2 person job) It took about 2 hours to put it all together. It is a very sturdy and well built elliptical. It has SO many options. Using iFit you can download HD videos of different locations to "ride" on. Or you can create your own paths by using google street views. (the HD videos are much better). You can also use the screen to surf the web, read news or watch internet videos. (youtube, nfl, etc..) The only problem I have is that the flywheel makes a sound when riding. I called EPIC and they are sending out a tech tomorrow to fix it. (great support) There are so many other features on this elliptical that make it worth the extra money (stuff that you wont find until you read the entire manual). October 15, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by DON'T BUY!!!!!! Paid $1300 for this on sale. Read reviews & was hoping I would be an exception to all of the bad reviews & was disappointingly not. After finding the man power to finally get the box from my garage to my upstairs rec room & assembling, NOTHING works!!!! Plugged it in & followed the directions in the manual of things to do before 1st use & BAM!!! ....nothing...... The touch screen doesn't respond. I can't even manually change the resistance or the incline from the buttons on the handles. I've unplugged, reset, etc & all I really would like to do is just beat the thing with a bat. Needless to say, this machinery was the biggest waste of time & money. I would've been better off buying a $400-$500 elliptical from walmart. January 27, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very Nice! First of all, not sure what everyone else is complaining about. I picked this machine up and put it together myself. Had a couple little ones running around and asking for my attention and still took me about three hours. Missing one washer but a 5 minute run to Lowes and $0.25 took care of that :) Got it together, plugged it in, did all the calibration and updates and setup before trying anything. No disrespect, but reading some of the negative reviews I just don't get it. I understand the touchpad might not work out of the box...that's a chance you take with all electronics...and waiting for someone to come out and replace it?...Get a screwdriver, take the old one off and put the new one on. Stuff happens. Anyways, I could go on and on about that but that's not why I'm on here. I usually don't write reviews, but I'm sure anyone with common sense would take the one-star reviews with a grain of salt. Just like anything else you buy and use, things wear out and will break. When it does, get a new part, put it on, and keep going. This is as close to "commercial" equipment you are going to find, which, surprise, will also wear down and need parts replaced. This is a solid, smooth machine built by a company that specializes in elipticals. October 14, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Do not buy. I like most of the other reviews should have stayed away from this. Came broke has been broke now over 2 months. Now the stupid built in tablet does not work just keeps looping. $1400, but my 5 year old $199 walmart one still works and I still have to use it. February 24, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Completely disappointed As of tomorrow we will have had this elliptical 3 entire weeks and still have not been able to use it. I just made the first payment and it burns me that i haven't even used it. We set it up and immediately there was a loud clicking sound from the front of the machine. We called for help reached epic (registered the product over the phone) then referred to us to ICON the actual maker. We then had to call out a tech ourselves who had no idea about who we were and hadn't gotten any info. The only pleasant part about this was that the man was nice. He came out 3 days later told us he would not only have to order a new motor but another part that was very costly had we not had the warranty. He called us back when he tried to order parts they had no record of our machine even though we assured by epic that the machine had been registered. In fact they got confused thinking we were ordering parts for a treadmill that we purchased in 2007!! What??? Mind you we had to do all of the communication ourselves. So we called back epic explained that the product wasn't registered to which they still said that it was and then even ordered the parts directly for us. OH and they offered us MORE warranty felt we may want to purchase a longer warranty. They gave us anew tech phone number. At this point I just want to give back this piece of bad machinery. The parts were delivered last Friday directly to our house. We called the new tech who said he couldn't help us because the old tech was still assigned to us. AGAIN we had to call epic back they referred back to the original tech and they are now coming out tomorrow which is a Weds. I tried using it with the noise since the tech said I could probably use it and anything I break he will be repairing anyways. The ifit kept having troubles and anytime I tried to tap up towards the top of the screen it barely will work. Do not waste your money. Obviously we got a piece of junk that was either dropped or put together by someone with their eyes closed. Extremely disappointed. Lets hope tomorrow they can actually fix this thing. I really feel we should have been offered a entirely new machine. December 11, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Unable to get service in DALLAS TEXAS I purchased this elliptical. Setting it up was easy and it has a really cool interface. After 2 uses, there started to be a clicking in the flywheel. I called Epic's service center, which took forever to reach someone. I was told that I would get a call from a technician within 5 business days.... all the while I can't use the machine I just bought. 5 days pass and I finally call Epic Service back to see who the technician assigned to me was.. they were 6 hours away in a small west Texas town, and refused to service my machine. Dick's was good with helping me return this item, I'm just unsure as to why they are selling a product that can't be serviced... in a multi million person metroplex. December 31, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Buy on Cyber Monday I saw this item while visiting Dick's in Syracuse in September. After doing some comparison shopping here in Canada I realized what a great value this product was for what you get. The price came down an additional $200 @ cyber Monday and along with the free shipping I couldn't resist! I had the product shipped to Ogdensburg and brought it home from there. I brought it into my house piece by piece as I was alone and I set it up by myself. A bit tricky, I definitely recommend a second person to help with the setup. Assembly was easy, I just followed the instruction manual and on line video. It took two hours. i-fit updated as soon as I turned it on and everything works fine! I am amazed how easy it is to move this large elliptical, as it has wheels on the front stabilizer bar, you just lift the unit from the back and roll it in place. December 23, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Smooth ride I have had this for a month and have already lost 8lbs. Started at 186, now 178!! I think the price is decent for the features offered and overall design. When I bought my machine, they had literature in store that said you get a free year of ifit, well I had to pay for it!! I was NOT happy about that. Anyway, my fav features are the color screen(makes map runs FUN), open ended foot beds, fan and heart rate moniter(so far, I've only been able to get a reading if wearing the chest strap#. My not so fav features are; placement of cup holder#awkward# and "iffy-ness" of the touch screen,# use a stylus for best results). I compared a lot of machines before purchasing this one. We had it delivered and set up by Dick's. November 13, 2012
