EPIC A35T Treadmill 2.4 5 31 31
Worst treadmill and compnay I had the worst customer service with epic fitness. Had to call multiple times for different issues and everyone was rude. The equipment is made very poorly. Had to have the console replaced and they told me 7-10 days to get it. 2 weeks later I still haven't seen it and called them. They were out of stock and reassured me that it would be in at the end of the week and they would ship it 2-3 day shipping. A week later nothing. Called again and got the rudest customer service agent on the phone , he told me they didn't know when it would be in and that they might be able to stripped it from another machine but that would take awhile. My machine has been broken for over a month and they aren't helping me. My machine is barely a year old! Will never buy equipment by epic again and will tell everyone not to as well. I would rate this no stars if I could March 12, 2015
Terrible unreliable treadmill Have had trouble with this treadmill since day 1. Initially had to get the computer replaced because the incline would randomly increase to 12% in the middle of a run. Now every 3rd to 4th time I use it the speed gets stuck at 1mph and won't increase so I have to quit. I hate this treadmill!!! What a horrible purchase. I think I exercise less now that I have such an unreliable treadmill. February 9, 2015
Do NOT buy this treadmill!!! The computer malfunctioned within 3 months. Epic blamed it on the ifit program, and ifit blamed Epic. After many months I got a new computer for the treadmill. Then that one malfunctioned too. The belt slips, a Bering is bad. I am SO mad! What a waste of money! I had a cheap horizon brand treadmill that lasted for 10 years of me using it at least 5 times a week for long distances. I figured if I used a treadmill regularly for that long, it was worth spending the money on a really good one. Epic is junk. February 8, 2015
Regret I purchased my EPIC treadmill in late September 2013 and initially it worked fine. However, as I was preparing to use it a few months after purchasing, the control panel would not work. (It simply had a status bar constantly running along the bottom). I had called their customer service and they said that it was a problem with the console that they were aware of and that they would send me a new "updated" console. The rep informed me that it was a simple fix. I asked if the part would include installation directions and he assured me it would. Upon receiving the console, needless to say there were no instructions. I tried calling their customer service for guidance and was unable to speak with anyone after more than an hour. I ended up installing it myself after approximately 6 hours and lots of photos. Once installed, the machine worked fine again until September 2014, at which time the same problem occurred again. I called customer service again and once again they said they would send me a new console. When I told them I would not go through the hassle of installing this myself again, they informed me that I was no longer covered to have the repair made by them. I asked them why they did not offer to have it replaced the first time when I was covered and they claimed that their labor only covers major repairs and the installation of a new console was considered a minor repair. I asked the rep if they had ever installed a console on one of these machines and they advised me they had not. I had then informed the rep that the repair was anything but "minor". They then agreed to have the part replaced for me at no cost. Once the SECOND console was replaced, once again the machine worked fine.....until November 2014!!!! While using the machine on 7, I had tried to slow the speed to 4, but nothing had happened. This had occurred 2-3 times during one workout. When I called customer service, the lady told me that it was likely in DEMO mode and that I just needed to turn it "off". I asked why this had not occurred before when using the machine and she told me that sometimes, for no apparent reason, the machine will just go back to this mode. When I checked, I saw that the machine WAS NOT in DEMO mode at all. When I did the update, as I had been told to do, the console again quit working. I again called customer service and they are again replacing the console. Do you think that the console MAY NOT actually be the problem? December 8, 2014
Beware We bought the Epic A35T. The very first time we tried to use this treadmill it did not work. Every time we called the manufacturer they wanted to send us parts to try to fix it ourselves. I tried to explain to her that this is a brand new treadmill and we are not treadmill mechanics. We had purchased the extended warranty from Dick's Sporting Goods. When we called them to try to get help they told us they do not have a service technician near our area so they would send us a gift card for the amount of our purchase. We never even got to use the treadmill. I would never buy anything from Epic again! September 25, 2014
Unhappy with purchase Was initially pleased with the versatility of this treadmill. After just a few weeks, however, it started speeding up and slowing down randomly. The problem has only gotten worse and is now so frustrating that I hate using the machine. I have replaced one part and am waiting on another. It has been at least five weeks and I'm still waiting. Today I was told they could strip a model -- if they have one in the warehouse -- and send the part, but that would be at least two weeks before they'll know if that is possible. Their warranty also sounds good, but is misleading. It says labor is covered, but that means YOUR labor if they choose not to send a technician. I would not buy again. March 27, 2014
Regret this purchase As stated in previous reviews by other owners, this treadmill is not worth the money you pay for the hassle you receive. It's just one glitch after another. The touch screen control panel doesn't compute correctly half the time and it's a horrible touch screen to begin with. The incline settings never adjust properly. The mileage or laps completed tends to freeze so you can't track your distance. I could go on, but you get the idea. On the upside, the tread is good and provides a smooth run. And the fan works well . . . so far. But cons definitely outweigh the pros. Save your money. March 21, 2014
Love it! Purchased from Dicks in the Richmond, VA area for a great deal. (on sale for 999.00, and used Dicks Credit so saved 10% more and then 2 coupons to save me an additional $30! AND free delivery and assembly). Delivered was delayed a few times which was a HUGE pain (first time the truck broke down, second time one of the assembly guys called in sick)- but other then that, all positive here! 2 workouts on it so far and it's working beautifully. Very quiet. Incline working very well - screen is easy to navigate. Assembly guys did an excellent job and I have no complaints! I haven't gone far into iFit, so cannot fully comment on that yet. Nothing weird has happened like others have experienced (speed jumping up, incline not working properly, etc). Assembly did say he recommended not updating software on the screen as, occasionally, the machine will have problems related to updates. No need to update here as everything is working just fine. I just wanted to run - and this makes it EASY! Fan works great too! Definitely recommend. January 2, 2014
Don't Buy This Machine Right out of the box this machine has had problems. I had it delivered and set up for me and all that went well. However the first time I used it the incline didn't work right. It would go up, but when putting it back to 0 it would go up more. It took some fiddling with to get it back to 0. I've calibrated it several times and still nothing. That's not the worse part. I was just walking at speed 4 and it jump to 11. I reset it to 4 and a little later it jumped to 8. The help line said they are going to send me an updated firmware to install manually because sometimes doing it over the wifi causes glitches. Really? that's your answer? November 15, 2013
Great treadmill but patience required First of all, let me say I absolutely love my new treadmill. I purchased the EPIC A35 mainly for the Ifit Live feature. I am not an athletic person and the concept of an organized approach to fitness with progressive work outs was exactly what I was looking for. I did a lot of research amongst the various brands (all made by the same manufacturer as this one) and chose this one because I was able to try it out in the store. The staff at my local Dick's Sporting Goods was incredibly helpful and answered my numerous questions. I paid for the in-home delivery service because the item is extremely heavy and I wanted to be sure that there were no assembly issues. The delivery team was prompt, professional and courteous and the treadmill was together within a half an hour. There was an issue with two precut covers not fitting over the base of the treadmill, but it did not prevent me from using the treadmill. The team ordered replacements which arrived within a week. They will be returning to place these where they belong. I also purchased the extended warranty and HIGHLY recommend this after preivously having had a defective treadmill from another retailer. As for the Ifit Live, I absolute love this feature. The workouts I have tried are great and I love knowing that I am progressing with every work out. Please note though, that it does require patience. If you have patience and are willing to work through the little glitches, the benefits of using it are truly there. For starters, the touch screen is not as easy to use as tablet. I only notice this with logging in and out of Ifit. Otherwise, it is fine. There are times when I have to depress the letter keys to log in very firmly, other times the slightest touch works. Sometimes even when I am on the letter screen, it will type in a number. In order to type in the password, I always have to depress both thumbs simultaneously and very firmly on each end of the password field so that I can begin typing in the password. So far, the most attempts it has taken is four. In order to minimize login frustration, choose a short login and a short password if you can. I have followed the instructions of always shutting the treadmill off and unplugging the treadmill in order to avoid any potential issues from a power surge. At the end of each work out, I always double check to make sure that I am at zero incline before powering off and unplugging. Powering up does take a few minutes, so I usually plug it in and turn it on and then change into my work out clothes so that everything is ready to go once I am ready. When dowloading the workouts from Ifit, I recommend not downloading more than you can do because if you don't do a work out that is in the queque, it essentially disappears and you end up "advancing" without having done the preceding work out. This is particularly important with the progressive workouts, like the Jillian Michaels or 30/60 day ones where multiple workouts are download all at once into the queque. For example, if you download Jillian Michaels Power Walking and Jillian Michaels Get fit, each day you will need to do two workouts . If you don't do one of the workouts and do not advance it to the next day before the day you were supposed to do the workout is over, it will not be in your queque the next day. I recommend logging in to your Ifit account on your laptop daily for all of this, since it's so much easierto move the workouts forward on this than trying to do it from the treadmill. All in all I am very happy with my purchasea and am looking forward to using my treadmill for years to come. The little glitches and nuances with Ifit are well worth it to me in the long run. I have the extended warranty and can always obtain service, if necessary. September 17, 2013
