We bought this treadmill after our old treadmill quite working (about 7 years old). The treadmill was easy to assemble and has a strong motor. The biggest problem we found when using one of the programs you will see a graph indicating the incline and speed you will have. The graph consist of linear lines and a graph bar goes from a speed of about 5 increments. My daughter was running on the treadmill and it went from 4 mph to a quick 8 mph without giving any warning like our old model would tell by a series of beeps. She jumped off and after pulling the safety tag, it keep going. I spoke to the manufactures and they didn't have any answers. The incline never seem to sync up even after multiple times of calibrating it. I even had to pull out the leveler. The last problem that broke our back was an attempt to adjust the console to a different height. The motor would grind and it would not move. All of this within about six weeks. We definitely did not like the surprises in the program workouts. I am sure some people have had good luck with their machines, but this wasn't one of them!

Rated 4 out of 5 by wexb Great machine!
Have had this machine for about a month. Overall, I love it! Some positives include: adjustable height of the console as well as the screen ( you can move the screen up and down). It really makes a huge difference to be able to move that screen up so you can see it well. The motor is very nice and I don't think it's that noisy. The cushioning is also great-I've had no aches yet. All of the parts work-except the right speaker. It may be a matter of pulling the console off and adjusting the wiring? Or maybe it'll need to be serviced-just haven't fiddled with it yet. The screen is lovely-well worth it and glad we paid more for a 10" screen. Really, the only negative is iFit. And it really isn't that bad, but it could use a lot of improvement. Maps doesn't ever work seamlessly and last night I had an issue with my workouts syncing, so I lost them. Thankfully, I snapped a picture with my phone and the data isn't completely lost. You'll need to get your own audio cable though to hook up your iphone or ipad. The sound isn't terrific, but very loud (even though only one speaker works) which is nice when you're pounding away running and trying to watch a show on your ipad (which reminds me-unless you're walking at a very slow pace, don't think you'll be able to use the web browser. It's way too difficult to browse the web while running. Plus, it really lags and is not worth the effort. Pretty much the screen is there for the beautiful street view maps and tracking your workout, really). The heart rate monitor probably works? I use it, but haven't double checked that it's accurate, although it seems like it probably is. Minus the very buggy ifit, this machine is well worth the money. I haven't missed one training for my half marathon (despite the snow storms!) and I do love all the free programs from ifit (Jillian's workouts really kick butt!!). We found a two year ifit subscription on ebay that equaled about $4.50/month and I think that's the way to go and worth the $ even thought it's so buggy. I've been able to map various races and beach runs all over the world and though the map works only about 80% of the time, it's still fabulous. It also matches the terrain and inclines/declines which is pretty fantastic. The fan feature is great and I love the two cup holders-they are big enough to hold a lot of stuff! Oh, and there is a little lip that easily holds an ipad and iphone. The only downside is my 10" ipad does cover the treadmill screen a bit and you miss out on a little scenery. Probably a 7" tablet would work great. Again, I just love this machine and I love that I can keep up my training despite the horrible weather outside!

Rated 3 out of 5 by Kristi Nice treadmill...Difficult to use
I purchased this treadmill over a year ago and I STILL struggle to master the controls to make my workouts less about working the machine and more about my fitness goals. More programming/support information needs to accompany this machine. There aren't even any helpful websites to make me love this machine yet

Rated 4 out of 5 by forjesus Very nice machine
This machine was the first treadmill that I had purchased. It has all of the features that I wanted, including a responsive/comfortable deck. The set up was easy enough with the help of one other person. My only complaint is that the machine was too wide for me to fit down a hallway and through a doorway. Because of that, I couldn't get the machine into the room that I wanted. For that reason, I did not give it five stars.

Rated 4 out of 5 by jaysone Great Treadmill but needs improvements with Maps/ifit
First off, Dicks will no longer will be carrying Epic equipment. Epic is made by Icon Fitness and is supported by them as well. We got this on black friday and took the floor model with a price of $989. Just based on the treadmill it's self, i give it 5 stars....it's definately a quality machine that will last for years to come. it's very comfortable to run on.
That being said, the Android operating system is a bit buggy and needs improvement to get 5 stars over all. Network setup was easy. But Google maps and Ifit crash a lot and sometimes make it so you can't change speeds or incline or even use any of the buttons at all. I;ve seen the system reboot in the middle of a workout but the treadmill continued to go and it never lost any of the information in terms of time/distance/calories etc....somehow it held that info.
i made a free Ifit account and loaded about 8 free programs. When i log into ifit on the treadmill, the programs are there but won't run saying i need a premium account to use them which doesn't make sense because they were free.
Running with Google maps is not very smooth, its laggy.
i have not found a way to enter height, weight and age in any of the programs other then the loose weight program. This is pretty inmportant info to add to your workout program.
I do love that the console raises to certain levels as i my wife also works on on this machine.
Overall it's a great machine and for the price we got it for, it was well worth it.
I hope Epic plans on releases an Android update to fix the bugs to make this a 5 star machine

Delivery was a breeze - guys setting up machine were great. However, the handlebars did not raise and the buttons on the console were hit or miss whether they worked or not. The delivery guys tried to contact Icon with difficulty - it took 2 weeks of calls to finally have a work order produced. 3 more weeks for a serviceman to repair unit but only partially. The console still did not respond to touch and the repaired arm sounded like a freight train when lowering. I once again called customer service and after troubleshooting they decided to send another part that "might" fix the problem. The part is on back order (unbelievable) and it will take another 3 weeks to ship once in stock. For the life of me I can't explain why the company wouldn't just send another machine and problem solve at their facility or at least send all the parts at once to work on. This is a waste of my time and I am frustrated that I paid over $2000 for a machine that doesn't work!

Rated 5 out of 5 by caa Epic treadmill is a great buy
I purchased this Epic treadmill after a great deal of research. I purchased a Smooth treadmill back on Feb 2nd. They were rated the #1 treadmill and I thought a great deal. It was April 15th and I still had no treadmill as they have been on back order! I did more research and went to view this Epic. This has great features including the option for IFit. If you want a treadmill with great programs, hearty motor and some of the best options available, then this is your machine. So far I've had no issues at all. I have a Dick's reward card and even saved another $60 with reward rebates. Overall a great experience at Dick's as they were very friendly and helpful. A good buy and great purchase!

Rated 4 out of 5 by NCRyanENG Great treadmill, iFit could be more user friendly
Purchased this almost 2 weeks ago, and overall I am very pleased with the purchase. I was getting discouraged reading treadmill reviews, after a while reading forums it starts to seem like unless you spend $5k-10k your going to get a piece of junk. They must have been referring to treadmills other than this one. My wife and I have both used it almost every day since we got it. The longest trip taken on it so far was a little over 7 miles and it was flawless the entire time.
-Very comfortable ride, I can use it longer and more frequently than when I used to use the commercial precors at the gym.
-Strong motor has no problem keeping up
-iFit workouts give good variety and "entertainment"
-Range of incline is more than adequate
-Reasonably quiet. It makes noise of course, especially when running, but not loud enough that it overpowers the TV or music
-iFit and the console in general have some issues. It's difficult to push buttons on the touchscreen when they're close to the edge. Sometimes the speed will stop tracking the workout, and won't track again until you restart the program (which is especially frustrating when it stops tracking after a couple miles into the workout)
-Plugging an mp3 player into the port to use the treadmills speakers results in poor sound quality
-Web browser does not have zoom, and if you return to the workout and go back to the web browser, it is no longer on the page you left.
-Memory settings for screen tilt and console height erase almost immediately
-Incline adjustment is a little slow
There are cons, but they are all things that I don't really care about. I wanted a sturdy machine that won't struggle at higher speeds, and that wasn't $5,000. I got it in this treadmill. Very happy with the purchase
