Merrell Men's Bare Access 2 Barefoot Trail Running Shoe
Worth every penny
These shoes are ridiculously awesome, and when compared to say some Nike's for instance- far better quality of materials used throughout the shoe; let alone how much you'll save when comparing prices (obviously dependent upon which pair you're looking at). Do yourself a favor and try them on, but keep in mind, Dicks' selection in terms of the various colors offered by Merrell for this shoe is very limited (at least in store). So, you may have to end up buying these online once you get your size fitted.

I love these shoes! They are so light and comfortable it's like being barefooted just like the shoe says.I am training for a Tough Mudder event and these shoes fit the bill.

Merrell does it again!
Just bought these bad boys today and went for a run with them right out the box. Super light weight, extremely comfortable, and I love the style. I plan on doing a lot of distance running and lifting weights in them. Stop looking at other minimalist shoe brands and buy these shoes. Merrell shoes are extremely durable (I have had the road gloves for over a year) and they know what you want with a barefoot shoe. Try these on and you'll see why I am preaching.

These are great running shoes. Love the zero drop aspect. Great fit, great ride, great sole. The shoe has just enough cushion to not feel every pebble on the road, and also works great on moderate trails.

a pleasant surprise
I have tried differant styles of Merrill hiking shoes.
i decided to try the Bare Access 2
i was xtremely pleased with this shoe, after having read about barefoot running, i wanted to try these.. I have hiked and trail run with them and was very surprised at the comfort, it is nothing like having full cushion hiking or running shoes on, very light and sturdy shoe.

Excellent long distance minimalist shoe
I do most of my shorter training runs barefoot and for longer trail runs I had been using Merrell's Trail Gloves. The Trail Gloves are one step up from bare foot running, giving your feet some protection from rocks, thorns, glass, etc., and not much else. However, after running twenty plus miles in the Trail Gloves my feet would start to feel like someone had been using a hammer on them. The Bare Acccess 2 gave me the extra cushioning I needed for runs longer than 20 miles, yet still had that minimalist feel to them. I love these shoes! They have a wide toe box, are extremely light, and very durable. I'm registered for a 100 mile race this summer and I'll be running using the Bare Access 2 to carry me to the finish.
