Don't hesitate
I've tried numerous brands of reels and as of late, many have seemed to get lighter and cheaper made. What was once a quality reel may not be nowadays. I've read about the Lew's reels and never heard a bad review so I contacted the regional rep before buying. He informed me of two areas of the world where you can count on the quality of the reel; South Korea and Japan. Anyplace else is a gamble. He also informed me that ALL of the Lew's levels of baitcasters share the same bearing sets. As the features increase on the reel, then the price goes up but the smoothness and quality of bearings remain the same. I landed on the Tournament for the centrifugal AND magnetic breaking. I also likes the "click" drag and especially the spool tension. The magnetic adjustment is easily tweaked with a normal size set of fingers and your wife doesn't need to do it for you. The new model of Tournament also has the tapered spool design over the U design. Okay, unpacked it, spooled it up, tied on a 1/4 oz practice plug and headed out back. The first review sums it up as well as I could. SMOOTH, quiet and easy to palm. The paddle grips are sweet and the handle is a great size that doesn't feel like you have a salt water reel in your hand. I returned two BPS Pro Qualifiers to get this ONE reel and it's easy to see that I won't regret it for a minute

Great craftsmanship
This reel is the smoothest baitcaster I have ever used. It is lightweight, easy to use, cast great, the drag is smooth and tough. This reel is smooth as butter and durable for the toughest conditions. I would recommend this reel to all, beginner to expert.
