Rated 4.1 out of 5 by 39 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Snake boots! Actually I never wore any type of snake boots ever before! However I bought these boots on 10/27/2013 and have been doing a lot of hunting where I had to do a lot of walking on one of our South Carolina WMA's. On Saturday 09 November,2013 I was walking thru area of heavy fallen trees and logs and stepped on a 3"dia.5-6 foot rattle snake and it struck me just above my right ankle!! Needless to say if I had not been wearing these boots I probabaly wouldn't be here now typing this review! I have two fang marks approx.2" apart on the leather portion of boot! This is definatly best investment I"ve have made in some time! They worked and kept me from a bad bite! Other than the fact that it felt like I was hit with a baseball bat im here to tell you that they work! November 13, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very happy with mine As a precaution I sprayed mine with a water-proofing spray before wearing them into the woods for the first time. I have waded creeks with them and so far dry feet. These boots did not need any break-in period. They are vey comfortable. I am flat-footed and they are a god-send for long walks in the woods. Some may not like the lace up closure, but, I favor that because I can make them fit much better than a slip-on. Thankfully I haven't had to test them against a snake, so, I cannot attest to that; but I am depending on the company's reputation in that category. I would recommend them. November 26, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by A little dissapointed These were said to be water proof, but I was wading in some water that was only a little above ankle deep and my feet were completely wet. March 15, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Boots I got these boots, based off 2 of my hunting buddies who have them. I got myself a set, and love them. After you get them broke in they are very comfortable. They seem to be alttle bigger from the size. I normally wear 11W, and I got these in 10 1/2, and they are just a "tad" loose on my feet. I just added a extra insole, to make them feel tighter. Rated 5 out of 5 by Field & Stream Snake Boot I bought this boot in early January to prepare for the Python hunt in the Everglades. I camped at Bear Island and spent 7 days walking in the woods, over 50 miles in the back country. Much of my walk was in t water between 3 inches to 15 inches. These boots performed remarkably well as long as I did not step in water deeper thant about 15". My feet stayed dry although at times I thought they were wet. Water never entered the boot. However, I have sprayed to boots with 5 coats of water repellent to make sure. Very comfortable. Ran across an Easter Diamondback and several Mocassins but no Pythons. January 27, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by A Real Review of a Great Boot... I purchased these boots to hunt a WMA in West Palm Beach, FL. This area is known to be extremely wet with plenty of Cottonmouths and Rattlers. I needed a boot that can withstand the elements as well as protect against venomous snakes. My first impression was that the boots felt comfortable and not too stiff. The start of the hunt involved a water crossing about 12-15 inches deep. My feet stayed completely dry along with the boots. I was pleasantly surprised that the material didn't absorb any water keeping the boots lightweight. I walked about 5-10 miles through mud, water, and grass. The boots performed flawlessly with excellent traction and were very quiet. My buddy had on some rubber boots that made a lot of noise compared to these boots. Fortunately I didn?t test them versus a snake, but I?m sure they will be fine. I also can?t say much for durability since they are still new. January 1, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by What a Great Boot! the F&S 15' Snake are the Bomb!!! today is Sept 10th 2014. ive had Trail cams or for a couple months now. before I arrived at my grandmothers 203 acres where i deer hunt, I decided to stop at Dicks sporting goods. I decided to buy these boots. I arrived at the hunting property and immediately put these boots on and Walked all through the woods to check all of my trail cams, through small streams that were 8-10 inches deep. I must say these boots held up flawlessly. My Feet stayed dry the entire time. i even stood still in 10 water hoping to cool my feet off anad the boots never leaked and my feet were still hot, lol.. But thatz fine with me due to the protection that these boots offer. 3 days away from opening day of Archery Deer season here in Ga. these will definitely be my Scouting/Hunting boots hopefully for a few years to come. these boots are extreamley Comfy... Rated 4 out of 5 by Lightweight and waterproof. Had to wear them several times to make an honest decision as to whether or not I would like them. They do pinch a little at the ankle at first but skipping the large speedlace at ankle level a couple of times has this almost worked out. My feet were not tired at the end of long days hunting. I would wear thick socks as they do run a little large. March 24, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by So far so good I purchased the boots because I plan to hunt timber property in south Georgia. I wore them only one time, but so far so good. I had to walk through 12+ inches of water for about 100 feet, and my feet stayed dry, which made me very happy. Luckily, I didn't have to test the boots' ability to protect against snake bites. The first time out I wore them for about 5 hours, and they were very comfortable - no blisters or rubbing on feet. Initially, I tied them too tight and the ankle-break area was rubbing just above my ankles, but that went away after I loosened the laces. June 30, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good Boots I received the boots on a Thursday and was hunting the Alabama woods for turkey on the following Saturday. Wore them for a full week. Here's my take on these boots.: They were new, thus pretty stiff out of the box. I had read other reviews about the tightness around the ankles, so I took one reviewer's advice and skipped the speed lace hooks at that location. It worked for me. I did not have any ankle issues and after a few days, I included the lace hooks at the ankle location and all went well. By the time the week was up, I could tell they were like any other hunting boot and were beginning to "break-in." I did wade some water with no leakage. It wasn't deep, so my water review is limited. They wore good, fitted properly to my size (11D) and did not produce any blisters or rough spots. I wore knee high socks and I think good socks are integral to the comfort of these boots. They are well made, look good, and in summary I think they are well worth the sale price delivered to my door. I would buy again. Traction was provided by a well developed outer sole and dug in well to soft terrain. Hope this review helps. Giving 4 stars only due to time worn. Could have went 5, but wanted to be as accurate as possible without hype. March 23, 2015
