Carrom Free Throw Duel Basketball Game System
This was a Christmas present so you can image how excited my children (4 children ages 8 to 12) were when they saw the box along with the possibilities of playing basketball indoors. The score counter broke within a week after my children started using it. I am currently trying to order a new one. Regretfully I wish I had not purchased this Basketball game system at all.

The Carrom Free Throw Duel Basketball Game is constructed of all metal tubing bolted together with nylock nuts. The backboard is a sturdy composite wood and the electronic score counter is plastic. The game is sturdy and easy to assemble, and very fun to play. The instructions are fairly easy to understand, although the diagrams could be larger and clearer on some of the steps. The weak part of the entire game is the electronic score counter. The counter attaches to the back side of the backboard and extends outward from the back side about 2", This allows it's housing and electrical input fitting to contact the wall whenever a shot hits the backboard or rim. If you place the game with its backboard up against, or near a wall, the electrical input fitting from the power supply to the score counter will break inside the housing rendering it inoperative. I found this out the hard way and had to order a replacement score counter. In the future, I will make sure the game is not resting against a wall and will also attach soft foam padding to the backboard around the score counter to cushion any shock from the balls hitting the back board and forcing the game against a wall. Be aware, on some floors the game will slide backward as shots are attempted. Take precautions to prevent the game's score counter from making contact with the wall. All in all, this is a great product and is of much better quality than any other similar product I have seen and/or played. It costs a bit more, but is well worth it.

We purchased this product for our boys for Christmas. It seemed sturdy and fun to play but the electronic scoreboard didn't even last all of Christmas Day. We called the number on the brochure that came with the product and they said the product was made in China and that they were unable to get parts to repair the scoreboard. The lady said she is sad everytime they sell one of these games because she knows they will be getting a call that is has stopped working. We called Dick's and they said they would take it back, so we returned it. It is very disappointing that the scoreboard was so cheaply made, because otherwise the product would have been great.

Easily put together and loads of fun!
We would have given five stars for this product except for fact that the metal flanges that hold the nets to the metal hoop have been breaking off. I will be contacting Dicks for replacement of hoop.

Great structure but poor electronics
I purchased this with a 50% of coupon. In my mind it is definitely not worth the list price of $300. The material and structure are sound and the assembly reasonably simple.
The counting mechanism is poorly designed and built. As I plugged it in the power socked got dislodged - poor quality. Additionally it is not counting correct all the time, it has a sleep function to save energy (which is nice) that you can only get it out of by pressing a reset button on the back or cycling power (not so nice). I am also thinking that getting the double hoop is not ideal. Even my 9 year old has trouble standing in front of it with his friends.

bought the more expensive one because reviews had said it was easy to put together and was sturdy. took 3 hours to put together and within 2 days legs broke that support the frame.

Go For It!
We read several reviews before settling on this product which may be slightly more expensive than some but worth it! Assembly was a snap and the quality shows. We are confident the hoops wont bend or weaken and that we will have it for years to come. Thank you!
