Rated 4 out of 5 by CHannon Great beginner board I bought this board to try out SUPB for the first time over a lake weekend. You can't beat the price which includes the paddle. Like other reviewers said it is heavy and awkward. But, you get what you pay for. For a beginning board it's awesome, kids and adults alike love it. As far as weight goes, get a partner to help you carry it. Dry it's 40lbs and heavy, wet is even heavier. July 7, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by IslandFamily GREAT deal for the price! If you are on a budget and have a big family like we have, this board is THE board to buy! It's heavy as heck, yes you have to paddle extra to keep up with the $1,000 boards, and yes it is heavy duty plastic...BUT... who has $1,000 for ONE board when you have 5 kids??? We bought 3 of these when they were on sale for $299, and used our 10% off coupon. We couldn't beat the price. Our children figured them out in less than an hour and are total beach bums on these. They paddle, they sit on them with friends and chat, they fish from them. What more can you ask for from this board? July 2, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by aggie45 Great Deal We own a lake house and have been looking for a paddle board. I can across this one. I have three kids ages 19,16 and 12. They couldn't be happier! Offcourse I bought it for $299.00 and totally worth it!!! June 30, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by RainierView This board is bullet proof We live on a lake and I've had a nice fiberglass board for several years. Problem is when guests come over the kids always want to go out on the board and sometimes they're not very gentle with it or the paddle. So I got the Freestyle XL for the kids. They can run it into the dock or the shoreline and I have no worries. My wife uses it too and likes it just fine. I tied a piece of nylon climbing webbing across the back so she can drag the board across the lawn to the lake. As others have pointed out, the board is awkward to carry. But it is what it is...a relatively inexpensive bullet proof board. I recommend it for certain uses, but not for a serious paddler. June 26, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Russell Terrible Board I never leave reviews but this is so terrible I had to. The design of the board is terrible, it's made of cheap plastic. The owners manual and website give no info on the board. It floats terrible in the water. I would save your money and buy something nicer. Don't believe the good reviews, I thought I was making a good purchase. June 25, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Bigmamabud Bought two, buying a third I bought the youth model for my 9 yr old granddaughter. She is just a wisp of a child and this one for everyone else who weighs over 130. She could handle this board as easily as the youth model as could the other nine yr. Old I had along. I am off to purchase another. June 25, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by mndrf Durable Paddle Board We bought this for a youth camp. We were pleased to see eight teenagers try it out. It was nearly impossible for any of them to fall off. They all had a blast. Only criticism with the paddle board (and this is true for all of them I guess), it is very heavy and awkward for one person to transport. June 21, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Coffee or Wine Great paddle board! I just purchased two boards. Simple to put together and a great value. They are great, stable boards and so easy to stand on or sit to paddle. I took a friend that had never tried one and she claimed to have bad balance. She had no problem and never fell off or came close to falling, and we even had a boat go by!The negative is the board is 40 lbs and me being 125 lbs it takes two of us to load and unload. The handles are pretty much useless. My husband even said it was hard for him to carry alone. June 18, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by chris Great Board for the Money! Please keep in mind two things as you read, one this is a great board for the price, and two, I am very experience with kayaks, windsurfers, and boards of any type. This board is not for serious paddlers who want a board for advanced technical skills. It is heavy, tracks poorly, and is fairly soft. If you are a serious paddler you should not even be considering a plastic board anyway. I you are a weekend paddler who just wants the feeling of standing on the water and plucking a wave or two, this board will be fine. The paddle was more than effective for a novice. The board is very stable and feels good under your feet. The plugs have eyelets for string and I recommend tying them to the rigging. I also recommend putting an anchor on the front most plug. The fins can be secured to the board also and elastic chord is provided. My son is a novice paddler and he loves this board. He had it in nasty Lake Erie chop and said it was fine. I took it out on a windy day with my Border Collie as a passenger and intentionally left the fins off to see how it would handle. Even with the high winds, no fins, and a moving dog it was a great boat! If you just want a sturdy fun board and take care of your equipment, this board will serve you and your kids well.
