From the go, it was not intended for use with muzzle brakes, guess what, most larger caliber rifles have them. Second, the end that inserts into the muzzle has a copper or brass ridge that is used to friction fit the device, keeping it aligned and upright once installed. This means that you need to push something hard past the crown of your barrel. I don't even let my cleaning rod leave the barrel so that I don't have to worry about accidental contact between the cleaning rod and crown when I remove it. Once I dealt with these issues. I decided to test the alignment on a rifle that I knew was already zeroed at 100 yards. I figured this would just confirm that I was using it correctly and the results would be what I expected. The problem was, the grid and my scope were not even close! The difference between the two was huge, my cross hairs weren't even on the grid. I returned the item, perhaps it was defective, I don't know. In the past I have bore sighed using my eye, looking down the inside of the barrel and moving the crosshairs to match what I see thru the barrel. This has always worked fine for getting me on paper.

I bought this for my gamo bone collector bull whisper rifle it DOES NOT work with this gun. The .177 arbor is not long enough to reach the barrel. But may work well for other rifles

Overall this is an excellent product! However, it lacked certain sizes (i.e., 8mm), and anything to do with shotgun gauges.

This product looks great and the concept sounds good. The problem is once you stick the rod in the barrel of the gun it is very unstable. This makes it tough to line up your scope crosshairs on the target in this product. The need to be a better way of stabilizing the target object in the barrel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by mvasaturo1 This Bore Sighter Really Gets The Job Done!
I purchased this bore sighter having never bore sighted a gun myself. I mounted 2 scopes and bore sighted 4 rifles (all having scopes) using this BSA Optics system. Not having any previous experience, I took the 4 guns to a gun store armorer and they confirmed that the 4 rifles (collectively) were only a couple of clicks off! Excellent job BSA!
This is definitely worth it's weight in gold!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Xmayor Good Product
Works great for zeroing the scope when changing loads. Product is very easy to use with the exception of alignment for the grid. Any sudden movement will cause the grid optics to move.

No better way to sight in a rifle without firing a single round. Gets you darn close with just a few minor click adjustments to hit on paper. Well worth the time, money and investment to have this tool.
