In it for the long haul!
My brother and I took a trip from Ashland, VA to San Diego, CA.
We wanted more room in the back of his FJ Cruiser, so we decided to stop at our local Dick's and see what our options were.
We picked up this Yakima GetOut Pro cargo bag, filled it, and threw it on our roof rack, then picked up another generic brand cargo bag and put it on the hitch mounted cargo carrier, all which we purchased from Dick's.
We departed VA, and with all of our cargo, now on the Outside of the vehicle, we managed to inflate a small air mattress in the cargo area inside the FJ, to take naps in between shifts.
We made it through Gusty mountains, TORRENTIAL DOWNPOURS, and the TERRIFYINGLY HOT deserts. Let me emphasize, the thunderstorm I drove through scared me to the bone, and I come from a coastal part of Virginia where hurricanes destroy homes annually. The deserts crippled many vehicles, broken down and steaming on the side of the road, even melting THREE layers of duck tape we used in an emergency to hold a broken side view mirror on.
This cargo carrier, PACKED, along with the other equipment purchased from Dick's, allowed us to drive cross-country, just the two of us, age 20 and 22, in less than 42 hours, non stop.
I always heard Yakima was an extremely reputable name in outdoor equipment, which is why I went with this name brand. This does not relieve me from the need I truly feel to reiterate.
This bag made it through the most testing journey I've personally experienced, in the most extreme weather I've seen, at up to 80 miles an hour where it's legal in the desert.
It made the journey without so much as a blemish, tear, not even a scratch.
Anyone discounting the quality of this equipment, clearly did not follow the directions on proper use.
Thank you Dick's and Yakima; you've made a loyal customer.
p.s. The photos are on my computer in storage. I'd love to upload them in the future if Dick's would allow.

big disappoint
Bought this item in Florida and packed it up it with luggage. We had a 10 hr drive home. It had a hole in it and came apart at the corner. Our local store did take it back with no problems. We were looking to using the item on more trips, but didn't even make it through one!
