Good Quality Shoe for My Needs I always purchase extra wide Asics running shoes...for walking 6-7 days a week. The model number has a 4E to indicate that it's wider than standard models. But for some reason, this model does not feel as wide as the other 4E models I have used in the past. It might also be that it fits my foot more firmly than the other models. Overall, I am happy with my purchase of this particular model and it should last me my usual 6-9 months. May 24, 2013
Wonderful I'm a 1/2 Marathoner. I'm 6'3", 230 lbs. I run 150-200 miles a month, mainly distances of 6-10 miles at a time. My pace is about 10:15 over 13.1 miles. I've been running in Asics Gel-Kinsei 4 shoes which are far too narrow for my feet. I bought a pair of GT-1000 4Es and what a difference this has been. Great shoe and an even better price. Best pair of shoes I've ever owned! This is my first pair of Asics. In the interest of full disclosure, I'm not a runner. In fact, I'm not running unless someone is chasing me. But about a month after buying these shoes, I went to Israel. We walked for miles every day - up hills, down hills, over rocks, stairs... These shoes took a pounding. The trip lasted 9 days. My feet were tired every night, but they didn't hurt. And they are extremely comfortable. I have a pretty wide foot. A lot of shoes just don't fit right. I've always worn Reebok, not because they're the coolest shoes on the planet. They just fit better than a lot of other brands. I now wear Asics. I'm sold. And as stated previously, these shoes took a beating. They held up extremely well. They pretty much look like they did when they came out of the box. May 18, 2013

Comfortable out of the box shoe Since I have arch issues with my feet I needed a specific type of athletic shoe and desired a shoe for walking, running and weight training and also casual use away from work. I am a former New Balance 595 wearer which, sadly, are impossible to find anymore. The NB's were the type of shoe that required no break-in and felt perfect to wear right out of the box. The ASICS GT-1000 shoe has filled that void for me. I like the styling, overall comfort and most important of all the near perfect arch support. As soon as I tried them on I knew I needed to look no further. The Dick's sales associate at the West County Center location was very nice and helpful in addition to being knowledgeable about athletic shoes, a not so common feature these days. April 30, 2013
