Rated 5 out of 5 by Northeast Best bullet for deer hunting. I have shot 10 + deer with this bullet form 15 to 170 yards. Most dropped where they stood and none ran far. Put this bullet in the vitals and watch the deer fall. 1.5" groups out of my original knight disc muzzleloader with 100 gr of black horn 209 powder. These black sabots fit tighter that the blue or yellow ones that come with other barnes ml bullets. That's why these ones shoot better out of my gun, tighter fit. Still easy to continue loading and shooting after fouling. If there were a option for more thatn 5 stars I would give this bullet more. March 18, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Hondo1001 Barnes Expander MZ .50 Cal/250 Gr. Bullets - 24 Pac Like the advertisement says: the Barnes Expander MZ bullets are built for deadly accuracy and power. Accurate they are! I used their early version years ago to find a muzzleloader bullet that would expand and do massive damage rather than a small finger like hole on both sides of the animal. They work and stop animals fast. October 24, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Riner Hunter Barnes Expander MZ 250 shoots well in my old Knight T-bolt Barnes muzzle loader bullets have shot well out of my Knight T-bolt. They have been accurate for my distances: 50 - 100 yds. (I have had poor results with other popular brands) I have recently switch from the 50 cal 245 gr Barnes Spitfire to the 50 cal 250 gr Barnes expander MZ. They patterned identically from my Knight T-bolt. I am using 100 gr triple 7 pellets w/ Rem Kleenbore 209 primers. This load combo works very well in my Knight T-bolt. I believe that Barnes makes the "Red Hots" bullets for Knight under the Red Hot brand name. So Barnes is my choice for Knight MZ rifles. I have taken several deer w/ the Spitfire 245 but wanted more expansion. So, I wanted to try the 50 cal 250 gr Barnes expander MZ. No change to the scope was required at the range as they both had the same point of impact. I am pleased with the range performance of the 50 cal 250 gr Barnes expander MZ. Now I will have to wait for deer season to evaluate game performance. Overall, I am pleased with the Barnes muzzle loader bullets. A quality, high performance muzzle loading projectile. July 15, 2014
