Good product, provides great recoil to enable realistic punching.
Good product, provides great recoil to enable realistic punching.
Just got my OmniFlex today, I should have read the previous reviews before choosing to fill the base with sand as opposed to water (was worried about the water getting stagnate and smelling). What a horrible design filling the base with sand is punishment but all that misery can be taken out on the OmniFlex once the setup is complete. The bag holds up to power punches surprising well even though I only got through two 50 lb. bags of sand in the base before giving up.

Great product
Other than taking 2 hours to fill the base with sand (2-50# bags of play sand from Home Depot), this punching bag is great! The only negative is that Dick's doesn't carry them in stock so I had to order it online and pay $30 in shipping. As soon as I ordered it, I realized that Academy had the exact same bag in stock and for $10 less. Aside from that, it's a great product and the workout is awesome. Definitely recommend.

100% Satisfied
I wanted a heavy bag but my new workout room had very limited space and the stands for a normal bag took up so much floor space. I read the reviews of the other standalone bags and decided on the omniflex due to the smaller base size. I was not disappointed. I chose to use sand and as i was warned in other reviews, it was very time consuming due to the channels that the sand had to travel down.

Great purchase!
I don't have room for a big heavy bag and I'm a boxing beginner. I bought this and crossed my fingers it would be a good substitute to a heavy bag...it is. The only thing I would say is do not fill this with sand, total pain and I couldn't finish it. I ended up filling it with distilled water (13 gallons) and antifreeze. I put this in the garage and it could freeze. I used distilled water so it didn't get gross inside with tap water.

Use WATER!
I really like the boxing bag, but if I had to do it all over again, I would not use SAND. I would fill the base with WATER. It took me 4 hours to get sand into the very small hole in the middle. The sand has to track down two separate areas, and gets stuck. you have to use your finger to get the sand to go down. Use WATER, as it is just as good (so I found), and goes in easily.

best freestanding bag I've ever seen
I hesitantly bought this bag after searching for a Century Wavemaster, which was no where to be found at any Dicks in my area. I bought it just in case I liked it, well after putting it together and filling it up, I can say it exceeded my expectations by 100%.
The base is small, which initially worried me, I weigh 210lbs and can punch relatively hard. When filled with water and throwing haymakers into it, the base doesn't budge, solid! I was also skeptical about the "flex" action built into it, again, a GREAT feature, the bag after you punch it changing angles, adding a nice element to slugging away at a punching bag.
I have used a Century Wavemaster before and it is decent but I would tell anyone to spend 40 more dollars and buy this one instead!
