Very sturdy goal This is a really solid, well-built goal set. It's kind of a project to assemble, and some of the tolerances in how the holes line up are off, but it is quite doable if you have an assistant and a decent tool box. The rim and backboard deflect the ball about as well as any fixed basketball goal, which surprised me, because I was used to more flimsy goals. A great alternative to an in-ground goal. The beast can be easily moved to the most level part of the driveway. May 17, 2013
Great hoops system Our first purchase was a smaller hoop w/shatterproof glass. Shatterproof has a deadening effect on the ball when it hits the backboard - a good idea if you are confined space and don't want to chase balls all over the place. Downside is that it does not simulate a real backboard and for kids, they are in for a surprise when they take to the court in a gym. There are less expensive ways to get a real bounce off the backboard than the Beast but I made the mistake of buying a cheaper/lesser quality system last time and did not want to do it again (what other surprises would I find). The Beast is awesome, everything about it is heavy duty and screams quality. My kids are out there every day and absolutely love it. Definitely get the assembly offer, Dick's doesn't stock this thing so you are going to pay for delivery anyway, it's not that much more to add assembly to it and they are done in an hour. Amazing This is the best basketball hoop ever and you should definately buy it for two boys who live in Portland Maine and names start with c and g so they can put it in there driveway and have LOTS OF FUN :) April 29, 2013
