great guest service Our sales persons name was Nick and he was amazing. He had great product knowledge and was very honest about them. Thank you Nick for a great purchase. May 22, 2013
Great Elliptical The stride is better than most elliptical machines I tried. Runs smooth and quiet. Took about 2 hours to assemble. On par with machines in the 1500.00 range. May 7, 2013
ALERT: Frame Defect There should be NO clicking, thumping or knocking noise with this ellipitcal. I loved this machine in the begining but at around month 5, there was an annoying knock that started up. Random at first then constant. Called support and had to demo the sound over the phone. They sent parts pretty fast then I had to call the repair guy they selected. Repair guy said their Dx was wrong and it needed a new break assem/fly wheel. Part came pretty fast. Same repair guy came back. After installing new parts the noise was still there. Found out there was a huge defect in the frame - a wheel bearing housing was too large to hold the bearing properly (not snug). They tell us a replacement machine is on the way. Now I have to haul away old Knock-Knock on my own. PEOPLE: DO NOT PUT UP WITH THIS MACHINE'S KNOCK-KNOCK JOKES (noise). If it is still under warranty, get them to make it right!! May 6, 2013
Works Well I purchased this to replace a cheaper elliptical that broke when I really started to use it. The Livestrong elliptical seems to be built well. A feature that I like is the adjustable incline control, something the cheaper elliptical did not offer. I feel like I am getting a really good workout on this. I was disappointed however that it is quite noisy. After just a couple days one side started squeaking, followed by squeaking and a thump, followed by the same noises on the other side. That part is very annoying. April 30, 2013
I fixed the noise!!!!!!!!!!!! I went to Dick's to to break one before I bought it. ya. I'm 6 foot 4" 270 lbs of construction worker fix it guy muscle. ok ok 30 lbs could be called extra.....Anyway point is I push stuff to the limit. "I BREAK THINGS". So I looked for a machine that would not just rattle to death in an hour. I too had heard noise - right foot every rotation on Oceanside floor model, that was before ever reading a review. It sounded bad for the LS10E, so I called the Live strong service number to ask about cause of noise so many complained about in reviews. To their credit, Tech suggested more grease on joints and adjustments. I did not think that was going to be enough to solve suck a "THUMP" noise heard and felt on so many machines. I jumped in my truck to go to the Escondido, Ca store to look at the mechanics of it again. To see if it was worth even buying. Or just breaking or making it clunk during regular testing at the store and leaving.without one good enough for home yet. I got to the store pumped up and ready to test all six they had just to listen for rattle, clunks, etc. Oh bummer man LS10 there goes clunk every time I went around. But wait..there was sales associate Tyler, nice smile and asked to help me. I laughed but he held his ground. So I took the time to tell him what I was doing. I wanted the LS10 but needed to be able to figure out the noise problem. He was great above the rest. He actually tried to listen to machine when I was using it. Then got some tools and he removed the lower plastic cover from lowest arm joint that helped plastic squeak sounds, he adjusted the legs a little and well...the machine still made noises. I have real tools and know how so I bought one in a box ready to take home assemble myself and tighten every bolt tighter than anyone that would do it - I hoped. But with in home warranty why not??? Tip for removing from box...You don't have to lift heavy part out of box, the box comes apart sides lift up. Start with more grease inside and out on all connections...Better Allen wrench and box end wrench then supplied is important to be able to tighten without stripping bolts. Factory stuff slips too easy for rookies - make sure you push Allen wrench in when you turn. Anyone healthy enough to use it can build it - follow the pictures... Now here is the kicker. After carefully building my machine and leveling a little to my floor. I was all over it one, two, three it was great. Electronic read outs, fan, bells and whistles and BIG sturdy steps for my 14 foot and it was running perfect!! I'm in .....and then suddenly the noise out of no where clunk clunk clunk and my heart sank down, down, down! GUESS WHAT??? TO FIX IT, ADJUST CENTER LEGS DOWN TILL THEY ARE CARRYING MORE LOAD. Have a friend lean machine over a little for you so you can turn legs counter clock wise extra turn. Front wheels and center legs must carry the load. And please learn to ride smooth and stay in control. I am able to make machine noisy by tossing body back and forth. But I am able to load it up pushing it hard without noise - riding smooth. To prove my cure I called Tyler at the store and he quickly took my center leg recommendation and quickly repaired the one on display in the store - removing the noise from it. In the end...after resolving the noise issues I highly recommend the LS10 Eliptical Machine. March 28, 2013
A Very Good Piece of Equipment I just bought it over the weekend and the installation wasn't bad. It did take a couple hours. I really liked how they organized the hardware pieces by steps. It made it very easy to follow. Once completed and working I've used it about 6 times already and haven't heard that clanking or clicking noise I read in other reviews. I would suggest this elliptical to family and friends! March 25, 2013
5 days/week for 3 months...knocking, squeaking, etc. As the headline states, the knocking has begun and gets worse with each workout. The first 2 1/2 months were fine, but one of the arms began clicking within the first month. I re-applied white lithium grease (highly recommended versus the junk they supply with the machine). The clicking went away for a while, but it's back. Funny thing is, I don't even notice it anymore with all the thumping and squeaking coming from the flywheel area. I'll have to call Livestrong to have someone fix it, which is fine, but nothing tells me that it will solve the issue permanently... Other than the thumping/squeaking, which coincidentally started happening once I began using the incline function on a regular basis, the machine CAN be very smooth and a great workout. Here comes the knocking! I have had this machine for 4 days now. Day 1 there was not a knocking noise and it was awesome and quiet. Day 2 the knocking came towards the front of the machine. Day 3 it continues and becomes more annoying. Day 4 I will be calling for a replacement. I LOVE THE MACHINE and the workout it gives me. But the noise has got to go or it will be returned. I like it even with its FLAW!! It does make a clicking noise when it is used, but its not that bad. We Got the store to deliver and assemble it. It works fine for us. Also the programs are good and you can change the incline on the programs and it will change the tension as required, but you can change the starting resistance and it will go from there. All in all good product. We had it for about 4 months and it works fine. We also got the 2 year warranty, just in case something goes wrong. GOOD LUCK and hope this helps February 26, 2013
Was very happy..until... I've used it a few times and am very dissapointed. I hear a knocking/clicking sound near the front of the machine. It has me soo frustrated. I can't believe after only a few uses it's already falling apart. Not buying another livestrong workout machine again. February 10, 2013
