Benjamin Titan Nitro Piston Pellet Gun 4.5 5 27 27
junk piece of junk, tried 2 different scopes, gun could not hold zero at 10yds, went thru 500 rds trying to sights in September 21, 2014
Very Accurate .177 Air Rifle ! The Benjamin Titan XS is the perfect .177 pellet gun that I've been waiting 5 years for! It is very well built, has great ergonomics\handling and has proven Very Accurate (10yds=Same Hole w\Benjamin 7.9gram lead HP). There's virtually no recoil and I can shoot in my workshop without hearing protection, it's that quiet (thanks to the smooth Nitro Piston technology)! The included Centerpoint 3-9 x32 scope is okay (7-9 power gets grainy) but adjust well for a consistent zero. Trigger pull is on the long side (1") and heavy (7lbs). Two 3\16" lock washers on the trigger pin\sear contact dropped length of pull to a consistent 1\4" and 3.25lbs, giving me bulls eyes with every shot...very respectable! At 1000fps (lead pellets, sub-sonic=stable ballistics), it is very powerful, carrying 18 foot lbs of punch. In just 5 back-to-back bulls eye shots, I tore a hole in my Gamo 8 gauge sheet metal target housing I started with...will need to beef it up to keep using! I've not had the chance to take it out long range (50 to 100 yds), but am confident it will be a very accurate plinker and small game hunter! September 19, 2014
Very Happy This rifle is well made, nice to look at, and wickedly accurate with the scope provided. The squirrels terrorizing my bird feeders have no chance. I just wish it was made in the US instead of China but it appears the quality control is excellent. April 20, 2014
Powerfull ! awesome rifle. well made and plenty of power.read the reviews and a few people complained about the scope. took me awhile to zero it in but it`s pretty accurate.makes up for the beeman r1 i allways wanted. March 4, 2014
Air Gun I bought this air gun a while back, the gun it's self shoots accurate every shot and is great for small game. But on the other hand the scope is a piece of junk it is very inaccurate. If you buy this gun you need to buy a different scope. It for the money the gun shoots great. March 2, 2014
gun the gun was very quiet but the scope was a not so good I recommend you get a different scope for the gun and the rifle was not consistent don't waste your money January 15, 2014
Lives up to great reputation! I've now put about 450 pellets through this rifle and I'm only more satisfied with every shot. Based on the reviews I'd read as well as my own reaction to the scope that is bundled with the rifle, I upgraded to a Tru Glo scope at the time I bought the rifle, and I had the Dick's guy mount it for me. As per other reviews, initially the gun was not that accurate. However, I tried to be patient as I put more rounds through the muzzle. After about 200 shots, I nailed a 4x8 piece of cardboard to a tree roughly 25 yards away. I put a large + sign in the middle of the cardboard and then lined up my scope on the bulls-eye. The first shot was between 3 and 4 o'clock and a foot away from center. I followed the scope instructions, and began adjusting for windage and elevation. Within about 10 shots I was grouping reasonably around the bulls-eye. This was with my aiming elbow resting on an a fence post, but not having the gun perfectly still. Since zeroing the scope at that point, the gun has been very accurate. The pistol grip is quite comfortable as is the Tru Glo scope. I paid $169.99 for the rifle in the store. Until recently, this gun was on Dick's website for $139.99, but I see they've raised the price to $159.99 now. Still, with the free shipping, you'll save $10 online. The upgraded scope was $59.99 in store, and I had the benefit of having them mount it at no charge. I just bought a cleaning kit and will be trying that for the first time this weekend. I've read that the cleaning will further strengthen accuracy, but only after quite a number of pellets have gone through. I'd highly recommend this air rifle. It's a lot of fun, whether you're going out to shoot for awhile or just stepping out the back door to fire off a few rounds. Although we're in the suburbs, we back up to the woods, so it's great to leave a target or two somewhere with a "safe" background, although after zeroing the scope, you shouldn't miss much. First Air Rifle I did a great deal of research on air rifles before purchasing the benjamin titan np .177. First was price, you will not find a better quality air rifle under $150.00 that shoots a pellet over 1000 fps, has a full metal "rifled" barrel for accuracy, nitro piston technology (go with the nitro piston models, metal spring air rifles wear out faster and don't hold air pressure like the nitro piston models), a fixed 4x32 scope, and an all wood stock. Second, if you are just hunting varmits or plinking (target shooting) within your yard, a fixed 4x32 scope is all you need for targets less than 25 yards. When you buy this air rifle, purchase an assortment of pellets to find which pellets work best for you. Avoid alloy pellets when breaking in your barrel, just use the soft lead pellets because they are cheaper. You will get frustrated because your shots are not hitting the target during barrel break in. It will take atleast 100 shots before you start getting close to hitting your target. Once your barrel is properly broken in, then sight your scope. Be sure to get a pellet pen, try to avoid touching the lead pellets as much as possible. Lead is poisonous, wash your hands after handling the lead. When I purschased my air rifle at the store, they bore sighted the scope. After your barrel break in, sighting the scope was easy. Be sure to use a sandbag, bipod, or tripod when sighting your scope. This will eliminate alot of hand shake when aiming. Be sure to use cheap lead pellets when breaking in your barrel. In summary, this was the best deal under $150.00. Shoots over 1000 fps, all metal construction, nitro piston technology, decent scope for 25 yard targets, and a wood stock. There is no silencing technology, so be sure to use some sort of ear protection. When fired, it is just as loud as a firecracker. January 6, 2014
Highly addictive Bought this rifle after reading several reviews and am glad I did. It's a great value for a very solid and accurate air rifle. The trigger had a very long pull, did a trigger job myself with three washers for less then a quarter, very simple project with the safety still working. The scope and rings that come with the package, well they are a disaster and of poor quality. Do yourself a favor, just pitch them in the trash after you get a quality scope and rings. Also try different pellets to find what your rifle likes.I have less then 300 bucks Invested on a set up that will shoot dime size, five groups all day long. Warning it's highly addictive fun.
