Poor piece of equipment. Bolts don't stay in causing the foot bar to fall off in use

This seems to be just what I was looking for---not too big or heavy. My husband and I were able to assemble this in about two hours withonly some slight confusion with the directions! Working good so far.

I went to the store, looking for a compact elliptical for home use. The ones on display were all more than $600-700, so I decided to go with this one suggested to me by one of the store associates.
I received the elliptical 10 days later, on a Monday. I spent an hour and a half, unpacking the elliptical from the box, taking it upstairs to the master bedroom part by part and then cleaning up all the packaging material from the foyer. Come weekend, my husband decided to tackle the tedious chore of assembly. From reading the accompanying manual and understanding the instructions to fitting the whole thing up screw by screw, it took him five hours. He is very handy, I should add. Finally, when the elliptical was all assembled, I stepped up and couldn't believe that an elliptical could be so uncomfortable. All the ellipticals I have worked out on so far found me standing erect and working out comfortably, without having to bend forward. With this one, I was working out, leaning forward, resulting in a very uncomfortable posture. I am 5 feet one and my husband is 6 ft tall and we both felt this elliptical was bad for the posture.
We decided to return the product back to the store. What a waste of time and energy this was.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Bob Solid piece of work out equipment. Mechanically sound
took about 1 hour to assemble, but was not too difficult. Product appears to be well build, and operates smoothly and quietly. I wish the stride length was longer, but other than that, I think it was a very good buy for the money. Both my wife and I have used it, and it provides a pretty good work out, and does not take up much space.

By utilizing the flywheel drive, the 500 LS supplies a smooth, consistent elliptical motion was shown on the product description. This is not really true as the motion is quite jerky and not smooth. It is difficult to get used to this jerky motion, and makes the unit more difficult to use.

Good quality and price. I assembled the PG in 2 1/2 hour alone. Used my own tools although usable tools are provided. Direction for assembly needs more clarity, but, with minimal working skills and common sense assembly is not difficult. Smooth and quiet. Pedals backward and forward. The 60" arms are much better than the 48". The stationary grips could be a couple of inch wider. Pedals are wide, long and solid with no slippage while exercising. Very good buy for the average workout person. Not for one who exercises to extreme i.e. Lance Armstrong. Looks well made not "cheap." Light weight and compact for easy moving, but, does not have roller wheels. Pulse, speed etc. sensor are easy to read and connect. I looked at numerous elliptical online and in stores prior to purchase. The ProGear 500 LS is the best I found for the price. If it last the money was well spent.
