Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 58 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great First Base Mitt!! I purchased this online for my 10 year old son. It was soft enough to use right out of the package. My son is thrilled with this glove. He's getting all the guys out at first. I would definitely recommend this mitt. May 21, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great mitt for the price This is a great youth mitt that can be used for a few years & then passed along. It was very limber at the time of purchase which made break-in a breeze. April 16, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome glove and steam service Got a great glove for my 9 year old and the steam breaking in service was terrific. It only took 15 min and was ready to use immediately. April 3, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Out of the box ready This is a great youth glove especially for first time first base players. Vitually no 'break-in required. April 2, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Glove!!! Glove was soft and was nearly broke in when purchased. After oiling it up my son has used it with great feel and success at first base. June 17, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good glove for the money My son is 9 yrs old and a lefty so he's a natural fit for first base as one of his positions. He wanted to try a 1st base glove so I found this one and for the price it fit budget as a second glove (fielders glove cost over $100). Right from the rack the glove is pretty much broke in. I put some conditioner on the glove and it came to life even better. It was game ready in 20 minutes. The glove works great. Its good leather not top of the line and looks like they saved money on the lacing which seems synthetic but what do you expect for $49.99. You get a really nice glove for the price. We will make the investment later down the line on a high end 1st base glove when he is older and bigger. Over all its a great glove that will do the trick for a little leaguer for a couple of years. Well worth the money. Mizuno is a good company with good products you can count on. March 26, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Really good for 2-3 seasons This is a great entry level youth first base mitt. But don't expect a lifetime of service. After two seasons of spring ball and one season of fall ball, the pocket is very sloppy and the factory laces are stretched to the limit and need to be tightened every 2-3 games. Also, the leather and lace holes are stretched to the point that the glove can no longer be tightened enough. Don't misunderstand this review. This was a very good glove off the rack. It required very little break-in. The leather is very soft but not very good quality. This feature also contributed to the "wearing out" of the glove, as the fibers in cheaper leather tend to break down faster. And the glove now tends to collapse when balls are picked. But for $55 it is a great starter first base mitt. I suppose re-lacing the glove could help, but for the cost of good leather laces and the 3-4 hours it would take to do the job, it's not worth it to me. Four stars new, two stars after three seasons, based on price and longevity. October 21, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by good quality youth 1st Baseman's mitt I purchased this 1st Baseman's mitt for my 11 year old and he loves it. He started using it at the 1st practice after we purchased it. We chose this one due to the success he has had with his previous Mizuno fielder's glove. These are quality gloves for an excellent price. March 12, 2013
